Tedford, Cody The article Tedford, Cody has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

i see you have deleted the article on this sport and you claim it is not notable, well why is any sport notable and how many people have to play it to count as notable. i can tell you that many people do in fact play this sport and it is increasing in popularity throughout the united kingdom. So i suggest that it should be reinstated becuase you have clrearly deleted the article despite being too uniformed to make that decision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by S0456769 (talkcontribs) 20:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Supremecourtportrait[edit]

In regards to the speedy deletion of James cromartie, does the artist need to submit for free license and copyright agreement for the article to be accepted? Is he the only one who can create a new article? Can we now have a discussion to have the article verifiable, etc. I am not clear at all in how to use this TALK option to get questions answered. OK, I see the question is posted..... I understand G12 is a copyright issue.... how can it be remedied and is the article in a "protected" space for now? Please advise as how to proceed. Thanks.

Daniel J. Torres[edit]

I am not sure why the Daniel J. Torres page got deleted. I know as I wrote in the article he is still in high school but he has done major things to influence literally thousands of people. He started Yarmulke Day a day that supports peace and tolerance, it was written about by the Poughkeepsie Journal, and Daily Freeman. He also found out that the major sports chain Olympia Sports was selling school merchandise with out permission and saw to it that they donated the money. This affected an estimated 200 high schools thus meaning thousands of students, this was also documented in New Yorks oldest paper Poughkeepsie Journal. He also was voted the Top Ten Most Influential Under 20 In The Hudson-Valley by the Times Herald Record. I was not able to site that because it will be in Sunday’s paper and has yet to be printed. He is certainly relevant enough to have an article. So I don’t know if you have any suggestions on how I could have made it better so it wont be deleted next time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mantle536 (talkcontribs) 00:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mo supreme court[edit]

Stop deleting the entry "Better Courts for Missouri." The organization is in the process of developing its Wiki entry and cannot easily do that so long as you delete it every time it comes up. The organization is the subject of substantial news coverage in Missouri and is a 501(c)4 that is actively involved in Missouri politics.

Again, your cooperation would be appreciated as the organization is legitimate and interested in having a functional and helpful entry on this site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mo supreme court (talkcontribs) 04:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on 'Beowulf and Grendel', by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because 'Beowulf and Grendel' is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting 'Beowulf and Grendel', please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy deletion of Chuck fay[edit]

A tag has been placed on Chuck fay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 15:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving Mountains[edit]

To clarify, I am in no way affiliated with the band. Last year, they recorded and released Pneuma independently, producing arguably one of the finest releases of the year in the post-rock genre. They have quickly risen to popularity, as demonstrated by their 150 000 plays on Last.fm (as a comparison, Justin Hayward has 40 000).

Right now, I can't guarantee that the band fulfills the notability criteria (unless reviews in major webzines qualify as non-trivial works), so I guess the article will have to wait.

That said, I don't see the purpose of deleting my disambiguation page, which also listed the album by The Casket Lottery. I sincerely doubt that more than a few percent of queries for "Moving Mountains" actually relate to the single article now available, so providing a more complete listing of uses should only be beneficial, regardless of whether the other uses qualify for individual pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Esc4p1st (talkcontribs) 19:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki,

I see that this new article, contributed today by newbie User talk:Bilbobag was immediately nom for SD by you and deleted shortly thereafter. Not having seen the article before it was deleted, I don't know just how lacking it was as far as CSD A3 is concerned. But regarding CSD A7, I believe this is a long-established newspaper in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Speedy Deletion of CreateNewPage[edit]

Hi, I am a new User, and may not have come to grips with all the controls and terminology. I was trying to write a page called The Silly Point, but I couldn't find how to create the Title. I accidentally clicked the save button instead of the show preview. It got published before it was complete.

You made a speedy deletion on grounds of non-notability.
I would like to mention why this site should be considered as a notable site.
1. This is the only non-BBC site that has been accepted by the BBC Sports TestMatchSpecial page as a Related Site and Link http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tms/ (on the right sidebar near the bottom).
2. It is also recognised by an independent website, the Indian news portal http://rambhai.com (on the right sidebar) as a Friend of Rambhai. This was due to the quality of articles being posted.
3. This is probably the only cricket board that is truly multinational, as it now has members from every single ICC full-member nations. This is difficult to prove, but is a certainly a very significant and a rare feature.
4. This site has a cricket-only search engine. This probably the only such searchengine for cricket, but is difficult to prove.

I am writing this for your reconsideration, rather than putting up the page again. The other points I would request you to consider are:
1. This is an amateur site, with no commercial interest and has promised to continue as a non-commercial site.
2. Wikipedia has a page to describe Web 2.0, this is a true example of one.
This is a site that aims to unite cricket fans from all cricket playing nations through interactions on the web, through two different platforms, the discussion forum and the blogspages.
Sports is meant to unite and not divide, and that is what this site aims to achieve.
3. Wikipedia has accepted cricketwatchdogs.com's page. That is a commercial site, that wants publicity to increase its revenue. It had started as a site to generate a hate campaign, and then to tap into the commercial market changed its name. The publication of its change of name on news sites is its evidence of notability, not its quality. The Silly Points have gained recognition for being a site of quality.

I request again for this page to be reconsidered.
If any changes are necessary, I am perfectly happy to do so.

Regards Awmyth —Preceding unsigned comment added by Awmyth (talkcontribs) 20:19, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One Fine Day![edit]

I am curious as to why the site was pulled down again in the middle of an edit. The original reason for the site deletion had been due to "a lack of notability" which had been rectified with the latest update that included 2 new sources from outside the "local" area and it included links to articles that could not be previously verified. The show is not just a "YouTube" or "Local" show as it is broadcast on a network that reaches over 3,500 campuses in the US alone, the Open Student Television Network.

I respectfully request that this article please be reconsidered.

Please refer to my message above. This is in continuation of the instructions on my talk page. I have re-submitted the entry (originally submitted in error as Create new page) This is the final version with entries and references as to its notability. I request you to approve its notability. If you suggest further changes to make it acceptable, I will be happy to comply. Regards Awmyth —Preceding unsigned comment added by Awmyth (talkcontribs) 11:53, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Manimal (band)[edit]

I started an article yesterday about Manimal, a French metal band from Toulouse, which was deleted before I had time to finish it. The reason stated was that the article "failed to demonstrate the significance" of the band. This is quite odd, as I had, in this very article, remarked that the band was classified under a sub-genre that was created, named, and pioneered by the band itself, and a few other bands of the area.

This page about Siebenbürgen has even less information than my page on Manimal did, and, rather than being forerunners of a genre of music, Siebenbürgen's music is decisively set in predefined styles - tell me, which is more significant, and which article relays (or rather, relayed) the band's significance more?

Though it is not my place to admonish an admin, I would request that you be a little more thoughtful before you cackhandedly delete articles that hold/could hold some importance. If the band is good enough for fr.wikipedia.org, why is it less so for en.wikipedia.org?

I am now going to recreate the page, and add more than I did last time. Though you may see even the band as insignificant, there are many who would disagree with you. Thedragon5000

Gorgeous Dre[edit]

I noticed that you deleted the page that I was attempting to create about the life of Andre L. Taylor. YES he is a real person and there are several notable reasons that he should be added to Wikipedia. I am new to this site in terms of adding information to this site. I attempted to save my information in an attempt to add more information to the page. To my surprise, the page was deleted before I could return to add more information. With the amount of detailed information that I included (including websites and references) I find it very impossible that you were able to read that information and deem this page to be deleted. I ask you to NOT delete this page until I am done creating it. At that point, you can read the page in it's entirety and make a better determination. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CreoleGQ (talkcontribs) 22:14, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gorgeous Dre Part 2[edit]

ONCE AGAIN.... read what I am saying...... Andre L. Taylor AKA "Gorgeous Dre" starred in the movie "American Pimp." If you search for "American Pimp" on Wikipedia, you will see that his name is in the credits of this film. Not to glorify "pimping," but he was very instrumental in that movie being made. He was a lead consultant and a key person in recruiting the others who took part in this movie. He faced Federal Prison and turned his life around to be a life coach. He wrote a book about his life and appeared on Montel Williams. So if you want to discuss notability, do a search for "American Pimp." Everything that makes that article "notable" will make Andre Taylor's article notable. As a matter of fact, I was in the process of obtaining that information while YOU deleted my article.

If you would have taken time to READ the biography, you would have seen multiple references and websites that support everything that was being reported. I was also in the process of gathering more information before YOU deleted the article. Again, before you delete an article, take time to read in it's entirety and/ or send me a message to verify anything you may not understand. Most importantly, allow me a window to complete my article so that you can see all my references and notable information.

I can care less about your opinion as to whether or not he is "important" or "notable" enough to be on Wikipedia. I can name many people on Wikipedia who are known for less. I am simply trying to report information that IS legitimate, people WANT to read, and CAN be easily verified. If you like, I can give you the phone number to his manager- if you need more proof that this information is accurate. Perhaps you'd like to talk to him yourself.

It is one thing if I'm submitting this information in an incorrect format. If I am, then perhaps you can make some more effective suggestions to properly submit my article. By the way, I already read the "Help" section so there is no need to send me any links.

It is another thing to delete my article because of YOUR opinion.

In any event, if you continue to delete this information, I will contact Wikipedia under grounds of harrrasment and discrimination. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CreoleGQ (talkcontribs) 01:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted due to...?[edit]

You ignorant fool! Why was the Michael Courts article deleted? Not only did that take a lot of time to write, it was factually accurate and interesting. It 'lacked biographical relevance' or whatever, that someones relative you twat. I'll tell you what lacks not relevance, but logic; this website.

The internet is free to express whatever. If this is a free encyclopedia, then it is open to anything, it is a peoples encyclopedia. If I want to find out straight forward facts, I'll look in the Macmillan or Britannica Encyclopedia (lets face it, they're more factually correct than this site). The Admin rules on this site confuse me. What gives you the power to mess with facts when you can't be objective? Question about Deletion and Submission Criteria[edit]

Greetings. I saw the notice on my talk page about my articles being deleted on the grounds that they were promoting my work. I'm not sure I understand the objection. These articles were not advertisements, they were informational articles. Many authors have their books in Wikipedia and this does indeed promote them in the sense that they increase public awareness of the author's work. That is all I was trying to accomplish. Can you explain in more detail what you mean by "promotion" so I can understand why certain articles are forbidden? Sincerely, CW --Cyberwatt (talk) 10:51, 12 February 2008 (EST)

The redirects I made such as LiveVideoService are trademarks owned by WWBN issued by the USPTO.gov. And I thought they should be redirected to the article. I think the article should be moved to WWBN as it is the main trademark for it. Thank you very much. morako (talk) 18:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki, I'm not sure why you deleted this page for not being "notable." Several users of this MUD and myself were in the process of creating content for the page when you deleted it. I think in the future you should check when a page was created and not delete it within 2 minutes of its creation. If you might have read the content or waited just a couple of minutes, it might have become apparent to you why this particlar MUD is "notable." Just to appease your concerns, it so happens that End of the Line is both one of the oldest (perhaps even _the_ oldest) LPMUD currently still in existence. In fact, it may be one of the older MUDs in existence altogether. If you read the Wikipedia page on BatMUD, that is a claim of their own notability that they make. Furthermore, there are actually academic works that cite this particular MUD (e.g. "Cultural Formations in Text-Based Virtual Realities" by Elizabeth Reid; text at http://www.ludd.luth.se/mud/aber/articles/cult-form.thesis.html) which I think also add to this MUD's notability. If it pleases you, we are going to recreate the page and we would like to hope that it will stay. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zmckinne (talkcontribs) 04:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, I'm not sure how I can "cite sources showing the MUD's notability" beyond what I just posted. There is no way for me to "cite" the fact that the MUD was created in 1989. It is simply just a fact. You can certainly go to the MUD's outdated website at http://www.eotl.org, where this information is as well. I'm guessing that you aren't a user or player of MUDs, so again, it might be difficult for me to extol the particular virtues of this MUD that make it particularly notable. However, for at least historical reasons this MUD has a significant relevance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zmckinne (talkcontribs) 04:33, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: this may provide some notability: http://www.mudconnect.com/motm/motm-0398.html. Thanks.

Another Nede sock[edit]

A page you deleted, My Mate Mick, has been recreated by Macintoshrules with editing by BarbieGirl1 and 119.11.32.140. The user on 119.11.32.140 is asking for an administrator to redirect Daniel Montana to the page. Given the history of Daniel Montana and My Mate Mick this looks like a Nede sock. Deletion of CeraSport and CeraLyte[edit]

Hello Nawlin:

I am not an employee of this company. I have been away since I added these articles. My first article about this company was approved as should its other aspects. See Talk:Cera_Products. Coke, Pepsi, Gatorade Powerade all have a presence. All their research is in-house reseach. What Cera Products offers has been academically proven in peer review journals and is used in the medical field. Gatorade and powerade have not and are not recomended by physicians. These articles are worthy of being published in Wikipedia because, the product has been scientifically proven and it is an evolution of high quality natural health products for rehydration.

I would appreicated if you would please send me the text that was deleted so I may restructure it so it can be acceptable. Thank you

Speedy Deletion of Geovative Solutions[edit]

This company is important and significant because they provide GeoTours, which is a highly useful software used by consumers and businesses all over the world for GPS tours (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gps_tour), and is the only software of its kind. I cited Garmin (the world's top GPS manufacturer) and GPS World (an authority on GPS), which legitimizes the article as notable. It's a rapidly-growing company in an industry that's taking off. The article deserves a place on Wikipedia.

GeoTours is what makes Geovative Solutions notable, important and significant, and GeoTours is described in the article. What more are you looking for to indicate why Geovative Solutions is important or significant? Ununtrium (talk) 13:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are on one heck of a power trip man. All you have to do is scroll through one page of your user talk to see that you like deleting things before anyone gets a chance to make a "user-created" encylopedia entry. Do you have any idea how much crap you could be fixing on Wikipedia, and instead you are "wasting your time" heckling me over a project that has merit. What if I created a NawlinWiki page and discussed your editing history? Just because you are not a public figure does not mean you arent worth knowing about.

Londonderry[edit]

Please could you undo your page move from Londonderry (disambiguation) to Londonderry.[10] I would do do myself but a minor page edit [11] prevents this. There is a longstanding but messy compromise that Derry and Londonderry about the city should point to Derry and that County Derry and County Londonderry about the county should point to County Londonderry. If this does not happen the issue of the name of the city will be reopened, with some arguing that since the official name of the city is "Londonderry", the city's page should be at Londonderry; that would not produce a productive debate, and the quickest way to avoid it is to restore the redirect from Londonderry to Derry while returning the disambiguation page to Londonderry (disambiguation). --Rumping (talk) 15:12, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DEFCON, Inc. deletion[edit]

The reason for posting the description of the Company is that there is constant confusion with the Hacker Convention, the video game, etc.

There has been a link in the disambiguation page to clarify this fact, but there is no internal link for the reference from that page.

Thus, the need for a separate listing with a very small bit of elaboration to distinguish the Corporation from the Convention, from the Game, etc.
