Proposed deletion of Deafless[edit]

The article Deafless has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This appears to be a neologism, and not yet a subjects which meets Wikipedia's notability criteria.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Personal note[edit]

I nominated the article Deafless for deletion because I thought the subject was a 'new word,' or neologism, created by a blogger, which hasn't yet been written extensively about in reliable sources, like newspapers, magazines, or books. I used the "proposed deletion" process, which gives five days before an article is reviewed for deletion, because I'm aware that this is a subject I don't know much about, and I wanted to give you time to work on the article- I'd hate for it to be deleted if it is, after all, a subject the encyclopedia needs an article about. I'm not sure why, but you've removed all of your references, and also removed the deletion tag. References are important, because that's how an subject's notability is established. You have a right to remove the deletion tag, but doing that means that you are finished with the article, and ready for me to review it and decide, either that you've made changes that show the subject definitely meets Wikipedia's guidelines, or that the article should be sent for a discussion with other editors on deletion. If you aren't finished with the article, and don't want me to review it yet, you might want to put the deletion template back on it- I'll give you a few minutes before I review the article, because I don't want you to feel rushed or embarrassed just because you weren't familiar with how Wikipedia makes decisions. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:17, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since I didn't hear back from you, I reviewed the article, and it still doesn't seem to include any information that would help me understand how this subject meets Wikipedia's notability criteria, so I've sent it to Articles for Deletion for discussion.
