[edit]Hi NSLE,
Thank you very much for your support on my RfA. I was both surprised and delighted about the amount of support votes and all the kind words! [edit]I assume Good Faith in Eddie, alright? I feel if he tries, he will do good. Isn't that something we all should do? Assume good faith? I guess I was wrong, once again, that's too bad I tried to be nice to a user. Quentin Pierce 04:07, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- I know that his RfA's will get shot down right now that's why I told him to work hard and wait 3 months. Quentin Pierce 04:22, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- He won't listen, I try to help him, and he said "I'll try around Christmas", no one listens to me, ever. I was trying to help, I want him to succeed some day. But he's making it very hard for himself to ever become an admin. By the way thanks for turning me on the nationstates inadvertantly, I saw it on your userpage, and just started playing. Quentin Pierce 04:25, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the heads up, I'll take a look at it. Quentin Pierce 05:13, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- He hasn't responded yet, but I don't know anymore. It seems like a lot of a hassle this one user is causing. I assume good faith, but I don't know if others will feel as helpful towards him. I want to help him, but I feel that he may not be able to be helped and will get blocked possibly indefinately. I know its wrong to feel he can't be helped, but I mean, it seems to be extremely difficult for him to understand rules that he has been instructed upon, many times. Quentin Pierce 05:38, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- Well hopefully we'll be able to help him. It will be difficult, I'm sure, but if we work hard, I'm sure we can get it through his thick skull. It's interesting how the first person I really want to help, is most likely going to be the most difficult one I will encounter. Quentin Pierce 05:55, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting me on my RfA. It's Thanksgiving Day, too... so once again a big thank you! Have an awesome weekend! (If you celebrate Thanksgiving, that is.) [edit]Since I have this page on my watchlist, I've been watching the events with good ol' Eddie lately (it's even going on as I type this). I've read what you've done to try and help him, so:
Great job. Keep it up! -- RattleMan 08:59, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh heck, a jolly good try indeed. Have you ever considered helping out with the Mediation cabal? Might be fun. Check out how they work first a bit, then just join in! :-) Kim Bruning 09:07, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Eddies accounts
[edit]Actually, Eddie edits from multiple accounts, including AOL and 69.112.54.11 which resolves to ool-4570360b.dyn.optonline.net (69.112.54.11), a New York-based cable account. Eddie lives in New York. I'm in the process of compiling the evidence for your review. Give me another hour. BTW, I don't think a CheckUser query has been done for the accounts listed in the sock pupppet category. I predict that you'll find that the results match Eddie's IPs. BTW, do you know why Eddie's website is hosted in Germany? Also, I find it strange that Eddie's website hasn't been updated since ~1999-2001. Listing in progress:
- 24.105.138.40 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
- Resolves to rrcs-24-105-138-40.nyc.biz.rr.com, a New York cable account
- As you can see by the contribs, this is Eddie's account.
- 68.167.45.99 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
- Resolves to h-68-167-45-99.nycmny83.covad.net, a New York account
- Account is used to ballot stuff AfD as User:Fotimus but apparently forgets to login. [1]
- Account is used to revert to Eddie's "prediction" version of Lists of tropical cyclone names [2]. He reverts to his AOL IP version originally posted by 152.163.100.5 (talk · contribs), an IP used by Eddie.
- 69.112.54.11 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
- Resolves to ool-4570360b.dyn.optonline.net, a New York cable account
- As you can see by the contribs, this is Eddie's account.
- Fotimus (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
- Created 19:27, 24 November 2005 [3]. No contribs.
- Sock account name used for AfD vote-stuffing but added by Eddie's New York account 68.167.45.99. [4]
- Prediction: Checkuser resolves to AOL or NY cable account
- Lets_Go_Yankees (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
- Created 22:42, 23 November 2005 [5].
- Sock account used for AfD vote-stuffing [6]
- Misspells "waste" as "waist", just like Eddie Segoura. Compare:Eddie, Lets Go Yankees
- Documented Yankees fan. See [7].
- Prediction: Checkuser resolves to AOL or NY cable account
- No_Whammies (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
- Created 05:23, 24 November 2005 [8].
- Sock account used for AfD vote-stuffing [9]
- Edits game show article, Press Your Luck. [10] Eddie Segoura happens to have a web page on Press your Luck.
- Creates Whammy (Press Your Luck) [11] (see Eddie's webpage) while duplicating Eddie Segoura's signature gramamtical errors ("He or She").
- Prediction: Checkuser resolves to AOL or NY cable account
- Third_Rail (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
- Created 20:23, 22 November 2005 [12].
- Sock account used for AfD vote-stuffing [13]
- Posts an argument on Talk:Exicornt [14] about "page doesn't get created and deleted over and over again". This is the same argument Eddie made almost three hours earlier on the same page. [15]
- Prediction: Checkuser resolves to AOL or NY cable account

reverting my page
[edit]According to WP:3RR: The 3RR is generally not enforced against editors reverting changes to their own user page space, on the principle that your user space is yours (for project-related purposes). Exceptions to this rule-of-thumb can occur in the case of editors identified by admins, the arbitration committee, or developers, as sockpuppets, where the sockpuppet tag is continually removed from the user page by the user. The 3RR rule may be enforced in that situation. Therefore, I have every right to revert my own user home page and reject edits or reversions by other users. Yankee Fan 00:22, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
- NSLE's response: Again, like above, rv was to attach sockpuppet tag back to the page. NSLE (讨论+extra) 00:57, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
No problem, glad to help out. The identified sockpuppets seem to have gone quiet for now (no doubt more are being created). Anyway, I'm off to bed. Cheers TigerShark 00:55, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit]I took that duscussion off my page for a reason. I hope it's settled now and I prefer it not appear on My talk page. Thank You -- EddieSegoura 00:30, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

Revert
[edit]Sorry, I didn't mean to revert you. I should have phrased the edit summary differently, so I can understand your frustration. In any case, I don't want to harass Eddie, and in fact I've been trying to protect him. He's posted personal information on my talk page as well as his user page, and in the former instance, I removed it from my discussion page to protect his privacy, and in the latter, I requested help on the AfD page, asking other users to convince him to remove it. Sarah Ewart responded to my query (at least it appears that she did) and asked Eddie to think about it. I don't want to see him get in any trouble. --Viriditas 03:24, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]Thanks for the support you've shown at my RfA. Reading the comments on this page and looking at your user page, I can tell you're doing really positive things. Nice to know I have your support! Keep up the good work, I (and everyone else it seems) appreciate it! Hamster Sandwich 14:48, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm happy to report User Karmafist (talk) has helped Me in a big way. She helped clean up most of the "dirty sock" notes pointing to Me (including a deletion of this page). While only a few linger, I think we've made huge progress and should have them all deleted by the end of the week. After that, I'll be able to start My Wikipedia career all over again and put all of My misadventures behind Me and build a good reputation, so if I do try for RfA months later (even though You might doubt it now), I'll have only good things to My credit. I think it's going to feel great.
P.S. Thank You for reverting an attept to vandalise My page. -- Eddie 5:28 AM, December 1, 2005 (EST)
