{{helpme}} So I've added multiple citations for Gloria's reference verifications and there's still the little note that says I need more and I added more precise citations that bring a person right to the articles written? When will these little notes go away or does an editor just need to go through the list and verify that the citations are for real? Kinda lost:) Thank you very much!!! This is for my latest Gloria Tew page. I haven't always logged in to edit, but I've been working on it. Anyone can remove those notes. I have done so for you. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 01:20, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

O.k. So I tried to reference a Mayo clinic pdf that is available at Mayo Clinic to show that she was a guest speaker at Mayo and then I tried to add a reflist template, but I must have done it wrong.RRRRR. Also, am I on the right track for citations?:) I'm sorry!Msly01 (talk) 19:13, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I believe you're talking about your edits to Gloria Tew? It's not quite right, but you have the general idea. First of all, the link you gave was broken, but I think I found the correct one. One thing I would suggest is going into your preferences and enabling the RefTools gadget. This will help a lot. It will allow you to insert citation templates very easily. Then you can click "cite web" and insert a citation that would look like:
<ref>{{cite web|title=31st International Association for Human Caring Conference|url=http://www.humancaring.org/pdf/IAHC%20conference%20brochure%202010.pdfy8kKWlw|publisher=Mayo Clinic|accessdate=26 September 2010}}</ref>
This would go immediately after the fact you wanted to cite. Then, in the References section, the {{reftools}} template will show the citation. I believe Chzz already put that into your article. Hope that helps! GorillaWarfare talk 19:50, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Again, I'm not totally clear on what to do to fix my page.sorry!Msly01 (talk) 15:00, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Msly01 (I moved this down to the bottom of the page - hope you don't mind!)
The article on Gloria Tew is no longer marked for speedy deletion. The article has been marked for improvement by another editor; this isn't unusual as Wikipedia is subject to continuous improvement! I would suggest cutting down the lists of collections, exhibitions and honours to those which are most notable or significant - not everything needs to be listed, but if there were some particularly significant items which were covered by independent sources, these could be written about in more detail. This brings up another point: I would separate the honors and references section up. Honors would be a section within the article, but the references, for example, the newspaper and magazine entries would be used to back up sources in the article. These references can be specially formatted so that they appear in an automatically generated References section at the bottom of the page. You can see this in, for example, the Sculpture article. The existence of these references is very useful in helping to improve the article, as they can be used to add more information and to reference it. I think the beginning of the article looks good, and the latter sections just need to be worked into prose or changed to emphasise significant events, and references added in the appropriate places. After the concerns noted in the box at the top of the article have been met, the box can be removed. To get an idea of what Wikipedia articles on similar subjects aim for, I would always recommend a browse through relevant featured articles or Good Articles. If you need any help, you can use another {{helpme}} template, ask at the help desk, or feel free to contact me. Best wishes, --Kateshortforbob talk 15:40, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Gloria Tew, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:28, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to list[edit]

{{help me}} Hi! I've been trying to figure out how to add Gloria Tew to the list of American Sculptors and to the list of people from Duluth, as those are both verifiable sources, but it keeps coming up as a template? How do I correct this? Or is there a place where I can suggest that she be added to the lists.? Thanks very muchMsly01 (talk) 17:49, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've added Gloria Tew to List of people from Duluth, Minnesota with this edit.
There is no article called List of American sculpters. She is already in Category:American sculptors. Chzz  ►  18:03, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
