Notability of Space Coast College[edit]

A tag has been placed on Space Coast College, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Correction. You have to give your hangon-explanation on the article's "discussion"-page. It is still important to do the hangon-tagging correctly, because otherwise it won't show up as a disputed csd. Thanks. Malc82 08:34, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:COI[edit]

Since you seem to be the founder of the Academy and College [1] you should read our guideline on conflict of interest. I found exactly 5 google hits for "Space Coast Academy" and you authored all of them. It thus is very clear that the institution fails our notability guideline. Thats true, I am one of the founders but I didn't see where a founder of an organization cannot post information about it as long as the information can be validated, like you've said. The Florida Department of State at: www.SunBiz.com can vaildate the existance of this new school. Although I don't totally understand, I do respect your rules, so please go ahead and delete both articles referring to Space Coast College and Space Coast Academy.

WP:COI discourages founders and other COI-editors to write about their institutions, but the deletion is because it fails our notability guideline. Conflict of interest is the main reason for people to start articles/advertisements for non-notable companies, which isn't what Wikipedia is for. Hey, so just to let you know, you don't have to type out your signature at the end - rather, just add four tildes - ~~~~. They'll give you a sig with a time stamp.
