Challenged deletion of Denis dunlop

[edit]

Hello. The page does not need deletion but instead I turned it into a redirect that goes to your other page, Denis Dunlop. If this is not what you were looking for, please undo my action. --Anarchyte (talk) 11:22, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Denis Dunlop has been reverted.
Your edit here to Denis Dunlop was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://thearchitecturalpineapple.blogspot.co.uk/2013_07_01_archive.html, http://thearchitecturalpineapple.blogspot.co.uk/2013_10_01_archive.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:53, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Morleyra. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Friends of Friendless Churches, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   18:19, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Belated welcome

[edit]

Hi, and a belated welcome, as I see you’ve been making occasional edits for a while. Then, huge congratulations and thanks for all that you and your team do. Re. the above, Wikipedia is rightly very alert to conflicts of interest. As one of the most widely-read websites in the world, many people seek to use the Wiki as a means of promotion for commercial gain. As a consequence, we have rules/guidance governing how people with conflicts should edit Wikipedia pages to which they have connections. As the Director of FoFC (declared in your edit summaries) you do have such a conflict under our rules. This can make things a bit problematic. And then there are certain style rules, such as our not using embedded external links within an article. If it would be of assistance, I would be very pleased to advise on any changes you may wish to make. Just drop a line on the article Talkpage, or on mine, and I’ll get back to you. Don’t use email, as it’s much better to keep all such discussions open and transparent. Lastly, you’ll see that the FoFC article is a Featured List. That means it stands among our highest-quality work. The charity is fortunate to have its article written by one of Wikipedia’s best editors. KJP1 (talk) 21:10, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
