Removing Speedy at Anuradha Ghandy

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Anuradha Ghandy, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion notice, which will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:45, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

The article Anuradha Ghandy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Most of the material on this page is taken from blogs (see WP:SPS), and it is still largely plagiarized by taking large phrases from these blogs.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Inks.LWC (talk) 21:59, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

The article Mondo (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:SPS - the first half of the article is mainly taken from customer movie reviews from Amazon.com and the second half was a copy and paste from http://cineensuhogar.blogspot.com/, a blog, which not only violates WP:COPYRIGHT but also WP:SPS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

  • And please understand that other editors DO see the contributions you have made when editing as User:Manorathan as notable enough for Wikipedia, and through the various deletion discussions or tags they WILL be saved and improved to serve the project. I write to caution you that removing of the various tags placed by User:MarnetteD on your contributions were not vandalism, as he is an experienced editor[1] and his tags have been done in good faith and through his understanding of our guidelines and policies. I ask that you understand that the processes here do work and ask that you never resort to use of sockpuppet acounts out of frustration. If you were to follow the procedure as set above at User talk:Manorathan#Blocked and state that you now understand this and promise to never do it again, I feel confident that your editing privilages will be quickly restored. And please, always feel free to ask others for assistance, as many are happy to help. For example, my improved version of Freaky Chakra can be seen at Talk:Freaky Chakra (Movie)/Temp, and will soon replace the one that has caused concerns. Have faith. And above all have patience. Best wishes, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:40, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
The copyright violation concern raised by a few users is baseless as the duplicator report showed 4 matching 3 worded phrases which were, well, adjectives, borrowed from it with proper citation. It is not a copy/ paste, moreover, to be blanked when it is listed on AfD page, preventing other editors from voting on it, as they should be allowed to view the page. I have not yet posted my response to my alleged usage of sockpuppets, so lets not talk about it till I have the time to respond. So I would expect this small amount of rationality on the part of the editors concerned in restoring the page. User:MarnetteD had also reverted a few other additions made by me to the author page, Siddharth Dhanwant Sanghvi, with an edit summary that reads 'rvt edits by a confirmed sockpuppet' brings a lot of light on his understanding of the wikipedia guidelines and policies. I see that you have made a lot of contribution to the disputed pages. Thanks a lot. freewheeler,Manorathan
Any concern with a possible copyright violation is taken very seriously. The best way to address it is as I have done... a rewrite of the affected page or section to address the concern at once and in its entirety. I feel confident that Talk:Freaky Chakra (Movie)/Temp will be used to replace Freaky Chakra and that that matter can be laid to rest. As for the block, a short one is actually quite lenient, as there are editors who have been blocked for weeks or months for such. Wait it out and return to editing. And a last bit of advice... you might consider beginning articles in a user workspace such as User:Manorathan/workspace/"article name here", and then seek input before moving the results to mainspace. Articles can then be made to shine before being offered to the community. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:09, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

about this edit to the temp page...

While having no doubt that "This film created quite a stir when it was released, dealing with one of the long time taboo subjects, age disparity in relationships, with the woman on the older side." That statement cannot be added unless properly attributed to a source... specially if it is an exact quote from a source. If it "created quite a stir", we need to have sources that say so. If the film topic was itself specifically seen as taboo in this film, we need a source stating that it was. Again, even a peception of copyvio is of grave concern. Remember the words that appear on the bottom of every edit screen: "Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted. Encyclopedic content must be verifiable." Those are among Wikipedia's most sacrosanct rules. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:43, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

I invite you to look at how I dealt with it. I moved the statement to the reception section, and then found souces to support and expand on it. This way, the statement is suported by sources and not seen as original research or personal opinion. WP:NOR is another of Wikipedia's major and sacrosanct rules. Quite a nice article now. Peace. :) Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't see any difference between a direct editing on the old page and this thing of deleting the old, creating a temporary one and then waiting for some pending approval, except the time it takes for both. What matters is the final article, but well, I am moved to say that here the procedure was more juicy. Anyways, it is fun with you guys here and so would it be, for my blogger fans, reading the making of 'Freaky Chakra's Wiki article'. Reminded me of the way the Government departments function. Thanks for your time.freewheeler 06:18, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry... I have to role this back. With respects, you really need patience. There are procedures set in place that need to be followed and not circumvented. Trust me on this. The "difference" is that once the old was tagged as copyvio, procedures dictated that work be done in a temp location. Period. And no matter how much the article has improved in a short time, the article NEEDS to sit at the temp site for a short while, as that original tag means that an admin must do the move after determining that the copyvio has been dealt with and the AFD is closed.... and THAT is imminent. Again, please... patience. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:23, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
  • This is really interesting. I am gonna frame this up. Thanks. freewheeler 06:42, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
It usually does not get so complicated. But when it does, we deal with it.... Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:59, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
  • You are a nice guy, you know. But you don't have to be this nice all the time, when the policies are redundant and the administrator seems to be abusing his power, you can very well snap back and trim him down. freewheeler 07:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
There are lots of admins and lots of policies and guidelines... and yes, many of both are redundent. But "snapping" only gets one in trouble. By being "a nice guy"... polite even in difficult circumstances, one can find solace in the support of others in improving articles and making Wikipedia a better place for its readers. Here's a work in progress that may be helpful. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:58, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
And see... the processes do work. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 09:35, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I have created a new page Leela. Feel free to edit it if you have time. freewheeler 12:00, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Nice. I moved it from Lella (Movie) to Leela (film) per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (film). Its looking quite decent and I'll be glad to give it more thorough look-over in a short while. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 17:46, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I managed to dig in more for Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish. Also created a new page, Kalyan Sundaram. Thanks for your review. Also added the awards for Leela (film). Another small request. Please check the awards section in Mondo (film). The award shown in the link is different from the award displayed on the page. Didn't do the change myself as I couldn't find a credible source. freewheeler 20:26, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
  • Well.... way down at the bottom of this page, it does state "1998, Winner, Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, Best film – Mondo"... So there was an award from that festival... just a matter of finding a link to their archives to learn exactly what the award was. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:38, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I have modified the reflink now to the archives page of the awards given. Thanks. Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 07:02, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Excellent. That's how we do it. :) Good job! Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:16, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I have created a page for National Judicial Academy, a research and training unit of the Law Ministry. Being a government run university, there is no full featured 3rd party coverage, and hence the main links for input were the Indian government website and the university website itself. The other citations were mainly about the director, except one which was an appeal made to the institute. Any suggestions on this page is welcome. Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 11:12, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
See the article history. Reviewed. Minor fixes. Wikilink'd. Corrected one date. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 19:31, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Lenin Raghuvanshi

I was glad to see your article on Lenin Raghuvanshi--we definitely needed one. Have you put it up for Did You Know yet? If not, let me know and I'll be glad to nominate it. Cheers, Khazar (talk) 14:36, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Should I copy paste the whole thing to Lenin Raghuvanshi? Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 15:11, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

No, better to wait and let an administrator do that so that the page histories will be saved. I tried to do it myself and got a message telling me to wait for an admin. Cheers, Khazar (talk) 15:12, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Oops! I just copy pasted the whole thing! Would the history be moved after the bot does its task?Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 15:18, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Hm, don't know. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's not like this article had a long history before, so this is mostly a technicality. Cheers, Khazar (talk) 15:21, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Okay, the article is not yet complete. Your help in adding more contents would be highly appreciated. Am signing off for the day.Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 15:24, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

About Riyad Vinci Wadia

Hi Manorathan! Nothing I enjoy more than jumping in to a new article. There's a lot of people out there who are very quick on the draw with the WP:CSD tag, you see. (I should know, I'm one of them.) I'll join you in the info-hunt, but I will be distracted by very important matters... --Shirt58 (talk) 10:06, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

I have added the inuse template to my article, which should make the CSD fans think. Thanks for writing back, have fun with rugby. Freewheeler, MANORATHAN
It's Rugby league, not Rugby! --Shirt58 (talk) 11:01, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
That shows how important it is to me. Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 12:00, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Firefox 4 is telling me "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page." Truth is, I fell off my chair with laughter, unplugging my computer in the process, after reading your comment above. I'm really proud to have played just a tiny part the development in this article. A WP:DYK awaits.--Shirt58 (talk) 11:37, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
You would be laughing even more loud if you get me talking about sports. Thanks a lot for your additions to Riyad's page. I was surprised that he didn't have a page here. His works might be regarded as crass and crude by the intellectual crowd, but he deserves a mention here. I think a lot more can be added to make it a B class article. Let me wait till my exams are over. Thanks again for WP:DYK. Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 14:40, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

ANI

Sorry, I don't think I was clear about where I think the energy needs to go. I suggest that most users of WP are casual readers consulting articles; that is where we editors can make the greatest contribution and it's where I'd suggest you try and concentrate. Talkpages can be a distraction, a magnet for conflict and are irrelevant to everyday users of WP. I'm not saying don't edit there - just that talk page edits should be secondary to, and in the service of, additions to main space articles. Could you try and improve an article by adding something constructive that reflects the consensus on its talk page? Small, uncontroversial edits to articles would go a long way towards re-establishing a collegial relationship (something I urge all sides to take on board). Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 13:57, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can see, none of the articles where the accusing party is involved in is free of controversy. I am currently researching on a new article totally unrelated to them. Kindly check the articles created by me, whose subjects are totally different from the disputed pages.Freewheeler, MANORATHAN 14:24, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Help needed

Could you please take a look at the Nair article. Matthew Vannitas recently added that the meaning of the word Nair is dog (here). This is getting a bit too much to tolerate. Shannon1488 (talk) 11:11, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Nair

Please revert immediately you massive removal of cited content at Nair. You have only just returned from a block and will likely be heading for another one unless you do this. - Sitush (talk) 21:00, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

You should better await consensus before adding content. Use the article talk page as I instructed in the edit summary.morelMWilliam 21:01, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
There has been enough edit warring on this article, and you have recently come off a block for disruptive editing. So please stop until a consensus can be achieved on the Talk page - you do not get to impose your own version before demanding that other people discuss it -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:06, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I have only reverted that page to a previous version as Sitush and Vanita kept adding content before arriving at a consensus. Consider placing a warning in their talkpages. morelMWilliam 21:14, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I suggested to you some time ago that it might be worth while reading WP:CONSENSUS. I repeat that suggestion now. Furthermore, your change destroyed a lot of work unrelated to the point in question. - Sitush (talk) 21:19, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I've reverted and fully protected the article for 12 hours. Stop fighting and start talking - gain consensus for changes, or there will be blocks for edit warring -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:21, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Consensus couldn't be achieved as you were pushing your POV. Discuss the credibility of Sadasivan in the talk page before adding it. Also, don't add anything before consensus has been achieved. Your work now should be in the talk page and not on the article page.morelMWilliam 21:25, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I have no POV, I have added nothing to the article, I've never heard of Sadasivan, and I have no preferred version of the article. But I can identify overheated emotions when I see them - and the fighting has to stop and the civil discussion has to start, otherwise people will be getting blocked -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:35, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

The link will not be live for too long, so I suggest that you either download or indicate (as a courtesy to the uninvolved person who volunteered to go to a library and make the scans) that you do not intend to download. Myself, Rajkris, CarTick & Qwryxian have already grabbed the info.

context is important

you originally said Cholas were Kshatriyas based on a partial sentence from page 560 of this book were reflected in epithers e.g., Rajaraja's title of Kshatriya-shikamani (crest jewel of the kshatriyas). and argued that it is not your responsibility to provide the previous pages. Sitush finally manged to get the 559th page which contained the remainder of the parial sentence Claims to Kshatriya status. now the full sentence being Claims to Kshatriya status were reflected in epithers e.g., Rajaraja's title of Kshatriya-shikamani (crest jewel of the kshatriyas). see Cholas were not Kshatirya, but rather they claimed Kshatriya status. see the difference. see how wrong you were? it is sad you are not admitting your error. i thought you will learn from this mistake, but you dont seem to. --CarTick (talk) 16:11, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

You don't get it. What I have been asking from the beginning is to add their claims to be Kshatriyas, for which there are many sources. You should perhaps tune up your ability to comprehend. Go back and read my posts on the article talk page.morelMWilliam 18:06, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
