Megan Drover

Megan Renee Drover (born: August 26, 1994), is a Canadian-born television host, model and equal rights activist, best known for her starring role her talk show Late Night NL, and her very well known shining personality. Drover is currently working on getting her newest project up and running, her book which will be released December 2013 entitled Regal.

Early Life

Megan was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador to parents Sharon and Frederique. She was raised in Grand Falls, Newfoundland and Labrador. She attended all her high school years at Exploits Valley High in Grand Falls. At a very early age became interested in playing sports such as figure skating and taekwondo. In 2003, she gave up figure skating to stay with taekwondo. Megan recieved her black belt in martial arts at the age of 16. In 2010 Drover was placed in the provincial female taekwondo championships by her coach and placed first in Newfoundland and Labrador. Megan also competed in pageants in 2009.

Infuences

A brief encounter with Sharon Osbourne in July 2007 on the hit NBC talent show Americas Got Talent, which is soon after the family's reality show, The Osbournes had came to an end, Megan fell in love with the mother and youngest daughter of the family, Sharon and Kelly. "I honestly don't know what drew me to them, whether it was their amazing style or whacky personalities but all I know is that it was completely worth it in the end" says Megan to one of the judges of the pageant she took place in, in 2009. Ellen DeGeneres is another huge influence in her life. She says that DeGeneres helped her through many tough spots and helped with the struggles that came with being gay. DeGeneres is also who inspired her to have a talk show when the oppertunity came. "It just seemed like so much fun to be able to do what Ellen was on her shows. She always has the biggest smile and is constantly glowing with happiness. Who wouldn't want to be like that?" she said.

Personal Life

Drover has been openly gay since 2009. She is now engaged to producer & manager,Ryann Combe, and says she is really looking forward to getting married in the future. She admits to have had a crush on British Royal, Kate Middleton, Dutchess of Cambridge but jokes "the huge age difference could be a problem." Megan spends a lot of her time in London and Norfolk, United Kingdom. Ms. Drover supports a number of organizations such as the NOH8 Campaign, an organization that promotes equal rights for the gay and lesbian community. She is also a big part of the Respect Accept campaigne that helps young bullying victims. Megan has also been part of the Keep It Green groups that are around who help protect the environment.
