User:207.166.7.200 - Continued Vandalism

Since you gave that user a warning, I thought you'd like to know that he has recently vandalized a variety of U.S. Supreme Court cases - including Roe v. Wade, Bob Jones University v. United States, Elk Grove Unified School District v. Newdow, and several others. --Tim4christ17 18:50, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see that this user has received several "final warnings" in the past 2 days and I'm curious as to the value of the warnings if he's not going to be blocked when he ignores them. --Tim4christ17 21:38, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted Edit

I believe that this edit [1] should not have been reverted. It is 100% factual. The placing might of been off, but I'm a little new at wikipedia.

Hectorhector 19:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nope, sorry. That's vandalism. --Bigtop 19:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Question

I see you are in the WikiPedia Youth Foundation? How old are you, you may be eligable for something else. Julz

Meh, never mind, too old... Julz

Just a joke?

You have reverted an edit on User:Zorath that I made. You idenitified it as vandalism (which is too strong a word), but the guy is actually my friend. Is there any chance we can undo this revert as a gag, or is no fun allowed on Wikipedia?

Further, the template you dropped on my discussion page is quite condescending. Just because I joke around with my friend does not mean I have no idea how to edit a page or how Wikipedia works. -Oreo Priest 22:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was snooping around and this is vandalism, you can't just go around blanking user pages. Even if he is your friend... I mean people would be like "What the heck?" when they looked at his page. I gotta agree with Bigtop here. Julz

You may notice that I did not blank it at all, but rather added content to a blank page. -Oreo Priest 00:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have made extensive changes to the page. I need you to either remove the AfD nomination or to assist in the peer review. You have made quite a commotion in this, and it is only fair if you help bring the page up to the criteria you are upholding it to.--Freewaves 19:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

REMOVE WARNING AT ONCE

In light of Zorath's allocation of [free editing privileges] to his page, please take me off probationary status at once, and notify that you have done so. Thank you. -Oreo Priest 19:35, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is this a joke or what? --Bigtop 19:37, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is a joke in the sense that it is for fun, it is NOT a joke in the sense that we actually have done so. -Oreo Priest 19:39, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Issues with User:Oreo Priest

I've given him a civility warning, and I'm watching your talk page to see where this ends up. Leave me a note if the problem/incivility/personal attacks persist. Cheers, — FireFox (talk) 19:50, 02 August '06

  • Can we just end this so I can go about my business? Thanks. --Oreo Priest 02:47, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • On an unrelated note, can you tell me how you saw my edit to his page within a few seconds? --Oreo Priest 20:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thanks. — FireFox (talk) 20:00, 03 August '06

changes to gta vice city stories

why was the page reverted and me giving a warning for me uploading facts for a magazine and informing the fan of the gta seris?????

this is what i loaded....

Victor Vance will be the playable character in the game The game is set in 1984 - two years before Vice City Players will be able to take advantage of new Jetskis on the water around the city Helicopters are flyable A new animations system has been created which improves on "previous games in the series". The game is said to be "much, much bigger than Vice City" The game will feature a multiplayer mode similar to LCS Vic can SWIM! The game will incorporate a multi-tiered mission structure which is much more in-depth than LCS All of Vice City's radio stations will return with new songs New weather effects will be included - possibly hurricanes Many of the new buildings in Vice City are only partially completed in Vice City Stories New loading system - only slight pauses before missions New handling system on bikes which makes them much more realistic Vastly improved draw distances - better than Vice City on PS2! Increased density of pedestrians, foliage, cars and objects Less "clumping" (where groups of the same model would appear together) There is a new theme park on Ocean Beach - the star attraction of which is "Chunder Wheel" - a giant wheel which you can ride in first person view! Trip Skips are back! (The little taxi that takes you back to the location of your last mission after you die) Vic can take advantage of a new gadget - binoculars! The game features many more accessible interior areas than other titles in the series Ragdoll physics are in and are especially noticeable when the shotgun is used on an enemy. Car damage has been significantly improved and more detail has gone into the different parts of your car that can come off like its bumpers and hood. A new effect has been added to car exhausts which makes them more realistic New water effects have been included that make the spray from the Jet Ski and boats more realistic than in previous games. The water is also now much more transparent and tropical-looking. The magazine also has a little feature on what will NOT be in Vice City Stories: Character Customization Vehicle Customization Wall Climbing Seamless integration of outside and inside from LCS will no longer be in VCS

tell me whats wrong with that?

  • Maybe redundant or advertising. --Bigtop 20:56, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe redundant or advertising???? how exactly.... they are facts form a gaming magazine which was relased yesterday.... the name of the mag was stated as a referance..... and at 13 years old you should not be let have anything to do with the gta games pages as it is against the law as you are a minor 193.203.144.116 21:13, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Details

Thanks for being so diligent with your tagging of blocked users, but you made a wrong assumption about User:DS and his Comfort Woman, and I just wanted to straighten things out for the record. Although that is indeed a banned sockpuppet of User:General Tojo, it has nothing to do with attacking me. Rather, it's intended to attack User:Profsnow, aka Daniel Strickland - someone for whom General Tojo bears intense animosity. You'll note that Profsnow's userpage mentions his wife being of Korean birth, and therefore calling her a comfort woman is an intensely racist comment; it could even be construed as an implicit threat of rape (especially coming from someone calling himself Tojo). Note that the only edits made by that account were to Profsnow's page - and read that page's history.

You did nothing wrong, just incorrect; I felt you'd appreciate knowing.

Keep up the good work, eh? DS 04:26, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

Bigtop, I have an idea for your tagging of blocked userpages. I think it's a good idea (although not entirely necessary). Instead of spending your time copying and pasting block text over and over again, you should compile a list of indefinitely blocked users (for each reason) and tag their pages using AWB. I think you could probably get through the process a lot easier.

If you'd like, I can help you make the settings in AWB.

That's just my $.02. Keep up the good work. (By the way, I've never had you ever respond to anything I've said to you...you there? ;)) alphaChimp laudare 04:34, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am confused

You seem to believe that I am doing something harmful in some way. however, this is only my second visit to Wikipedia, and all I was looking for was a connection between ways to block epileptiform seizures that might involve orally administed dosages of magnesium compounds. Hope this reply assauges you temper. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.163.100.138 (talkcontribs)

What Vandalism/Nonsense were you referring to?

You say I vandalized and added nonsense to the razr page, yet I did no such thing. All I did was remove someone elses nonsense. Please clarify if I am missing something, otherwise feel free to not harass me about things that just flat out didn't happen. Thanks. Santorummm 03:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Talk to the user who reverted that edit. I just put the warning only, not the revert, because the user who reverted that edit reverted it first than me. Thanks! --Bigtop 18:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism is a serious word

I came to your page because I spotted a "final warning" from you on the talk page of a guy who seems to be a fairly serious editor. I was surprised to see him accused of vandalism, and following the link to the page I saw that it was nothing of the kind--it was original research, maybe, but certainly not vandalism. Going to your talk page I see you've sparked the ire more than once of editors whom you've accused of vandalism in situations that seem to be similar. It's worth bearing in mind the words of WP:VANDAL:

Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia. For example, adding a personal opinion once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated.

And as another piece of Wikiwisdom has it: Assume good faith.

I know you're doing the lord's work--but don't assume every problem is a nail just because you're fond of hammering. Nareek 15:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst I appreciate your anti-vandal efforts, that IP was actually me. -- Steel 23:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

You have taken part in the AfD process for List of successful automobiles and voted delete. The decision was unanimous and the article was subsequently deleted. Now a corresponding article, List of automobiles that were commercial failures, is up for deletion for the same reasons. It would be only logicial and just to have them both deleted, so I cordially invite you to take part in the new discussion.

Regards, Bravada, talk - 09:08, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to delete stuff I wrote about myself

Hi

I wanted to delete information I wrote about myself. Why did you disallow this? --Charlie Evatt 23:37, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I am writing to inform you, and many others, that an AfD in which you voted delete, List of automobiles that were commercial failures, was already unsucessfully nominated a short time ago, but under a different title. This was not noted in the nomination. Please read the opposing arguments here, and reconsider your vote, because it is important that the opinions of previous voters be considered. Thanks! Continued vandalism by Danielkent

Hello. I'm still new to Wikipedia so I apologize if this is not the correct way of doing things. I have noticed continued vandalism by the user Danielkent on the article Just Friends (2005 film). From the history page, I have noticed that you have already reverted the edits made by Danielkent once. However, it seems that he has reverted back to the vandalizing the article again with remnants of the Green Day article.

If this is not the right way to report vandalisms, I would greatly appreciate it if you could inform me. I am still trying to learn and there's so much information on Wikipedia these days I'm still not good at affectively looking through the Help topics.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the "welcome" message. You seem a bit confused though... am I really still considered a newbie after being a registered user for a year and a half? --Astronaut 19:34, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't think User:Joseandricardo and User:Jose and Ricardo (and another Jose, which I don't remember the exact user name) are socks of User:Science3456, and should not directly be indefblocked for that reason. I don't see that much of a similarity between their actions and what I've heard about User:Science3456. But I'm not going to revert. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 00:18, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block messages

Hello Bigtop, I have blocked 24.195.217.63, who you reported at WP:AIV. I assume it was a mistake, since you seem to be using the 1.3 beta version of VandalProof, but you left a "you have been blocked" message on the IPs talk page. Generally only the blocking admin should leave such messages. In the future, please only warn to test4. Thanks, and happy editing! Prodego talk 01:15, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Actual size

Please do not label images as actual size. Due to differences in the size and resolution of computer displays as well as various software settings, there's no way to knwo what physical size an image will be on a user's screen. Sorry about your RFA :(

Have a cookie, you'll feel better

Hey there, Bigtop... I'm so sorry to see you've withdrawn your RFA. RFA is an awfully grueling process. It's tough to have your record on display for everyone to see!!! I don't think you need to wait until 2007 to try again; just wait until somebody else nominates you (somebody will, trust me). I'd just like to see a little more knowledge of policy - nit picky things, really, like not having more than 2 RFAs within 60 days and definitely no voting for yourself. I see you around AfD quite frequently, though, and hope to see you there more!! You are a very valuable member of the Wikipedia community; just wait about three to four months to try for the mop and flamethrower again and I'm sure you'll have a ton of support. If there's anything you need, you can always drop me a line on my talk page or e-mail me. :) Srose (talk) 21:37, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Please don't take the RfA comments as criticism of yourself as you haven't done anything wrong! You don't fight vandalism on your own, many hundreds of people do so continuously the world over, twenty-four hours a day. If you have schoolwork to do, please put this before Wikipedia. This will still be here when the work is finished! Get an editor review if and when you feel you need your work peer-reviewed. This will give you more constructive criticism in order to build your Wikipedia profile. Keep doing this an edit at a time and sooner-or-later another editor will invite you to RfA, where your skills and experience will be visible for all to see. Don't be put off! Remember, your schoolwork comes before Wikipedia and one edit at a time! Regards,  (aeropagitica)   (talk)  22:45, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of SeaWorld San Diego attractions, shows, and restaurants

An article you created, List of SeaWorld San Diego attractions, shows, and restaurants is a blatant copywright violation and a direct cut and paste job. I've tagged it as such, and I urge to remedy the situation by rewriting the article or actively seeking an administrator to delete the article, as there is already a large backlog and might be unattended for some time. Thanks in advance! Cheers hoopydinkConas tá tú? 03:34, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Somewhat, I did not write it: I just moved it, but I was not the writer. You should contact the original writer who did it. Bigtop 16:33, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • You mentioned that you created the article on your recent RfA, which is why I contacted you about deletion. It's a bit moot now I suppose, as the article has been deleted. Happy editing! hoopydinkConas tá tú? 16:42, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please let the AfD on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Summit Park Mall run its course first, then review the article. Otherwise there will be too much going on at once; we need to deal with these malls systematically. BlueValour 04:01, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm, thanks for the welcome

I recieved the weirdiest welcome from you today...just plain weird. [3] Given I've been on Wikipedia for two years, and registered for over a year and a half, such a welcome message is...odd. Vandalism

I was not vandalizing the Stuart Johnson page. what I had done is copy the code from the rex grossman page into the stuart johnson page. stuart is a coworker of mine. i was setting up the page for him, but do not currently know all the wikipedia coding. therefore, i copied code from a page i had been reviewing and began to edit it. please revert the page back to how i had it since it was not vandalised, but factual!

Just talk Omicronpersei8 - he reverted it first, not me. Bigtop 21:13, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete criteria

I notice you tag a page as a repost, since it had previously been speedily deleted. G4 is not appropriate for tagging recreations of speedied material, either the original speedy criteria is still true, in which case you retag it with that, or it isn't in which case the material can stay. In the particular case I saw it was obvious junk so no problem, but just for future reference. --pgk(talk) 19:56, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

andy roddick

Sorry about deleting the paragraph without stating a reason. However, I do think that section should be left out simply because there is nothing factual about it. To say his "mmature behavior reflects badly upon his character" does not seem objective to me. That section seems to be a mini editorial in what should be an objective article.
