RE:Edit Count[edit]

Congratulations on hitting 1000 edits. However, the quality of your edits is what really matters, and by that standard you are doing an incredible job. Keep it up, -- The Hybrid 00:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How the heck did you make the list? How much time do you spend on here? -- The Hybrid 22:39, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When do you sleep? -- The Hybrid 22:47, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So, the way I see it, school takes around 6.5 hours, plus 15 equals 21.5 hours, so with only 24 hours in a day that means that you could only have a maximum of 2.5 hours of sleep, not even taking dinner and homework into account. That is impossible. -- The Hybrid 22:49, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dream about it as well. Once I ended up taking on Jimbo Wales and WoW in a triple threat tables match. Strange, to say the least. Jimbo won, BTW. -- The Hybrid 22:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see, -- The Hybrid 23:03, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I noticed that a little while ago. Don't ask me why it's doing that, 'cause I will never know. Hey, at least it's working right? Cheers, -- The Hybrid 23:06, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As long as I have some type of AV tool I'm happy. It could say PINECONE as the edit summary and I'd still use it. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 23:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Laughing[edit]

I don't you get it - you asked on the reference desk for a way of adapting the edit box to use as a means of adding a comment to your talk page. The box you placed on my talk page merely enables the user to go to the page they type in the box, not to make a comment, as you indicated you were hoping for. Froth told you on Reference Desk that you could use it to go to a particular page, you don't seem to have managed anything other than this... UkPaolo/talk 22:22, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS - I see you've add the box to your talk page - I'd have thought adding this link would be a more convenient method for people to access the page (rather than making them type your username). Or they could just press the "+" button... UkPaolo/talk 22:23, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes - I know you will go straight there. I have tried it. But all you're doing is going to the page whose name is specified in the box. I re-iterate that Froth told you on Reference Desk that you could do this, and I have never denied it. That's exactly what that box can be used for. What it can't be used for is to enter a comment which is then added to your talk page. That is my understanding of what you were hoping to achieve. I ask the same question as above, what is the advantage of using the box in the way you are doing - it means people have to enter your name and press a button, rather than click the "+" button or a link which you provide... UkPaolo/talk 23:39, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I'm glad you achieved what you were aiming to then, thanks for letting me know! UkPaolo/talk 23:44, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: LolOLRoffLeCh0ppyTER IMEHNNEEWWEB[edit]

No it doesn't, it just opens an edit page of the title that you type in the box. You can't actually make an edit box. Which is exactly what I said. I laugh because you have no clue. --frothT 00:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I quote: "Those boxes are only for inputting the NAME of the page. Once they enter the name of the page, they can be taken to an edit page for that page". But you can't make an input box that directly adds a comment. --frothT 05:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:My Icons[edit]

Dang, that's not cool. Now I have to get rid of them :( -- The Hybrid 19:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sweet, thanks! -- The Hybrid 19:30, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The compass does look really cool. I might actually copy that like I copied your other icons, but rather than link to my user pages I like linking to the Wikipedia pages that are important to me. If I can figure out 2 more, then I'll use it. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 20:24, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User Boxes[edit]

You need to migrate the user boxes that you have created into your user space. User boxes were recently found to be unencyclopedic, and therefore unfit for the template mainspace, but they are allowed to exist in user space. Read over WP:UM to see how to do this. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 22:07, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, I added it right under my Zero Tolerance Policy userbox. I think that you're supposed to redirect the userbox page rather than delete it, but I'm not sure. Just do whatever WP:UM says. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 22:28, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I like your user page. It looks really good. As for the time of my next RfA, I am planning on filing it in late March or early April. BTW, I am going to be going on vacation for ten days in mid-March. Could I tell my adoptees that they can ask you for advice if they need it while I'm gone? I would like to have about 3 people who know what they are doing to answer their questions. Would you be willing to be the first? -- The Hybrid 01:51, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let me say there is no greater pride (on Wikipedia) then seeing someone who you have been watching since they first joined become a great editor. The satisfaction that you take in watching them earn respect can’t be compared to anything. I'm happy to see that I will be getting some "Wiki-grandkids". This is going to be awesome. -- The Hybrid 21:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am leaving on the morning of March 9th, so the evening of March 8th will be when my edits stop. I live in Arizona, so I am 7 hours different from UTC time. When I add the Wikibreak template is when to be ready for the questions should they need advice while I'm gone. I get back on the 20th, so I won't be editing again until the 21st of March. Thanks again, -- The Hybrid 03:34, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sweet. I like the new stuff in the popups, and now I don't have to make the Wikibreak template. Thanks DH, -- The Hybrid 21:52, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if someone is willing to vandalize my page for any reason, then they are willing to vandalize the rest of Wikipedia. If having someone vandalize my page saves an article from one thing of vandalism by having them get a warning over my page, then it is worth it. Peace, -- The Hybrid 22:36, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sweet, you're almost to 1500. Keep up the good work. -- The Hybrid 22:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ADOPT Userboxes[edit]

DH, I think that you forgot to update your page and Batmanrules667's page with the WP:ADOPT userboxes. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 22:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. Peace, -- The Hybrid 23:03, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

sure. it would be cool if you would adopt me. thanks! Achilles beast 03:10, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You asked[edit]

You asked me to tell you when I would be up for admin again, so here I am. I said that I would be waiting until mid-March to nominate myself, but a friend of mine is going to be nominating me as his final action before he retires. There will be a link on my user page soon. Peace, -- The Hybrid 21:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I appreciate that. This all my fault anyway. If I hadn't taken Mike up on his offer, and just waited until the end of March like I was planning, then this wouldn't be an issue. Oh well, if I can stay out of major disputes until July, then I'll be able to make it then. I'm going to leave my RfA up for a few more days in hopes of more people like you coming along who have seen how hard it really is to get under my skin, but I don't predict a success. *Sigh*, I could do so much to help out if I had those tools... -- The Hybrid 22:10, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it takes up 4 lines (I'm looking at it right now). However, it isn't a big deal. He didn't vote against me because of that anyway; he was just giving me what he thought was some useful advice, and maybe it was. I really like my sig right now. I may change it to something simpler later on, but for right now I just want to leave it. I'll look at the coding for your invisible sig now. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 00:32, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, you spanned it in white. Creative, to say the least. Just don't use it on actual article talk pages. People will get upset. Peace, -- The Hybrid 00:46, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, while I don't care personally, many people find span sigs distracting. Peace, -- The Hybrid 01:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Holy cow that's a lot of edits in one month, and a huge jump! Keep it up and you should be able to make admin. If you continue at that rate you will have ~5000 edits in July, so there won't be any experience concerns. Just don't mess up like I did and let your mouth overhaul your butt. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 02:18, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Our Future RfAs[edit]

I think that I'm going to wait 6 months instead of 3, meaning that I will be applying in October rather than July. I was flipping through a group of RfAs that were for users who had been desysopped for abusing the tools in a dispute that they were having with each other, and 6 months seems to be the magic number. They all waited for 6 months, and they all made admin in spite of their colorful histories with the tools. If you want to apply for admin before then I will understand. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 00:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of red links[edit]

Please stop indiscriminately removing red links. Many red links are extremely useful and point to articles which should be created in future. Warofdreams talk 03:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Adding links is fine, if they are useful - just as removing links is useful, if they point to an article which should never be created. Warofdreams talk 15:54, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Highlight My Name[edit]

A modified version, per request: User:Ais523/highlightmyname2.js. "WikiProject Formatter"[edit]

I'm curious about why you made this edit. First off, it's generally a bad idea to make edits that have no effect on the page, since they cause server load. Second, I wasn't aware that there was anything wrong with not placing a space between the asterisk and the bracket. Can you please point me to the guideline that supports your edit? Thank you. --NE2 23:17, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright[edit]

The boat was the Sun Princess. The vacation was very nice, and you would have loved it. Sorry about the RfA. The BCrat did the right thing. A 2 vs. 10 vote has been determined as grounds to invoke the WP:SNOW clause, and it looks like a support vote from me wouldn't have changed it. Had I been around I would have recommended that you withdraw at that point. I've looked into TWINKLE, but until it has been completely tested for IE I'm reluctant to try it. Essjay, yeah, I read all of that just before I left. I think that what he did was wrong, but the good he did for Wikipedia outweighs the bad IMO. I feel bad for him. I personally hope that he returns in a new account and rises to BCrat again. I actually added a quote from him to my "Quotes" section. Peace, -- The Hybrid 22:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
