Question

You declined a clearly notable topic with a complaint about neutrality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:George_Couper_Gibbs Can you clarify if this was a mistake please? Legacypac (talk) 20:17, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Legacypac, Yes I declined that. The references are not good enough to prove notability. Secondly, the content is not encyclopedic and neutral to my thinking. Another editor already improved the page after you made it live. In any case, I also trust your judgement on this. No need for further argument on this. Cheers.Mgbo120 (talk) 17:43, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Philip Michael

Not sure how this one meets notability guidelines. I was thinking of going AfD but wanted to reach out first to see if there is something that you saw that I may have missed. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:35, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

CNMall41, Thanks for reaching out. I guess you're right. I was carried away by the neatness of the page and few of the refs I wrongly presumed are notable therein. I agree with you it can be taken to AFD for further review by the community. Have a great day. Cheers.Mgbo120 (talk) 22:22, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Mgbo120. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Minor user rights can now be accorded on a time limited or probationary period, so do check back at WP:PERM/NPR in case this concerns your application. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance. so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. ~Swarm~ {talk} 22:15, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Nomination of Microtex 666 for deletion

You nominated the microtex 666 page for deletion, but it has substantial historical significance to the Australian online community. There's a direct line of descent from Microtex 666 to OzEmail to where we are today. Most Australian internet users are unaware of what was going on in the 1980's, and how, in its primitive form, it lead to their current online lives. Please see also the supporting argument on Talk:Microtex_666

Waimate01 (talk) 05:32, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi Waimate01, I understand your points. However, there's a need for verfiable references to prove the notability of the topic. If deleted, you can always recreate. But start with a draft. Work on it,if possible take it through WP:AFC for proper review.Mgbo120 (talk) 06:19, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Thomas Voigt Article - Requesting more specific information for edits

I'm writing based on the declined submission of the Thomas Voigt Article. Your comment stated "Add inline citations and more news-related references." Was there a particular asection in which you were referring? I'd be happy to put the footnotes on every section if needed. Are you asking about the quality of the references, I can try to update them if needed. Please let me know when you have a chance. Best regards, JBandJohnK (talk) 04:41, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Bill Kessler IIIJBandJohnK (talk) 04:41, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

  • JBandJohnK Thanks for reaching out. Yes, you need to add in-line citations at the intro and every other paragraph to buttress your notability claims. Go for news-related references such as online newspapers, magazines, authority websites that feature the topic richly. ~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 09:23, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Tru Kids

Hello Mgbo120, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Tru Kids, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: owning Toys "R" Us is a pretty major claim of importance. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. Request on 10:40:00, 18 February 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Oddleiv Vik

I have been trying to publish the Wikipedia article "Piraya Film" for some time now, but this has been turned down by several Wikipedia reviewers for different reasons. I have tried to edit the article several times, and I am a bit puzzled that it is rejected again, reason given "Reads live advert. Overly promotional. Needs rewrite to suit WP:NPOV". The article draft is presenting short factual information about a documentary film production company, and the films it has produced and co-roduced. These facts are backed by links to independent sources of information. I have stated that I am employed by the company. I have looked at published/approved Wikipedia aricles about other documentary film production companies from Norway and elswehere, and I cannot see that my article draft is more "overly promotional" than many of these. What EXACTLY in the article draft is "overly promotional"?

Oddleiv Vik (talk) 10:40, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Oddleiv Vik, thanks for reaching out, Lots of issues on the draft. Do the following: 1. Remove those external links you added within the content. 2. Add a reference sections and make sure you include in-line citations where necessary. 3. Reduce the data on "External link section". Add only 2 or 3 vital links there. Finally read WP:NPOV to get more clues on neutrality. ~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 10:47, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Marathon drafts

I am currently editing the articles and adding citations. I am completely aware of Wikipedia's policies regarding independent, reliable sources. They're not completely done yet. Please wait for a few hours before moving them to draftspace. One of them has an IAAF Bronze Label, which means it's top-rated and attended by well-known elites. Mystic runner (talk) 19:18, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Mystic runner Then don't publish them yet. Incubate them in your sanbox or userspace otherwise they may be tagged for speedy del. I only decided to move them to draft to remind you about the right thing to do. ~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 19:25, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. I am well-versed with Wikipedia's notability guidelines and carefully choose the right articles for Wiki. I'll include more citations before moving them into the main article namespace. Mystic runner (talk) 19:29, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Request on 21:56:53, 20 February 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by CHVNNS

Hello, my article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Jay-5Flow) was declined publication and I am not sure how to solve the problem. Your suggestion was to "Add in line citations." Whilst I do appreciate your feedback, I would really love some clarity as to 1) where exactly should these in line citations be inserted into my article? and 2) how should I best go about inserting same.

Also, can please let me know if there were any other reasons for my article being rejected and how to resolve these problems? As you can see, I am very new to the community and need help.

I learn by doing, and by making/correcting my mistakes. So any practical, detailed advice would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

User_talk:CHVNNS User:CHVNNS *(I hope I signed this correcty) ~~User_talk:CHVNNSUser:CHVNNS~~

User:CHVNNS, Add inline citations or footnote at the intro section and other sections that require that. Make sure the references you use are independent and good. ~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 20:47, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Dear User:Mgbo120, thanks. This definitely adds clarity.

I have made the changes I see necessary, as per your advice; and will resubmit the article for another review. Thanks again.

Question

Hi. Manuel de la Rocha disambiguates two (current) entries. Is it not enough?--Asqueladd (talk) 20:28, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

@User:Asqueladd you're right.. It's an oversight. Not deleted anyways~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 20:42, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
