Speedy deletion of AdvancedPowers

[edit]

A tag has been placed on AdvancedPowers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 00:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Merchant Empires

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Merchant Empires, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Merchant Empires, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. I am reporting this to the conflict of interest noticeboard, where other users and admin may decide on further action on this article. Thank you, MuZemike (talk) 01:42, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Merchant Empires

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Merchant Empires requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

How to write an article

[edit]

Thanks for getting back to me, and keep in mind that I do not reply directly from my blog when it pertains to Wikipedia as that is what my talk page is for. It seems that you should start from the top and learn about Wikipedia slowly. The best place to start is at Wikipedia:Introduction as well as at Help:Contents/Getting started; it has some good material there for beginner Wikipedia editors like yourself, and it can help get on the right path about what Wikipedia is and what you can do to help improve it.

Here's some personal advice from how I got started several months ago. I, myself, have not created a single Wikipedia article as of yet; I started by editing and improving currently-existing articles. It might help, instead of creating new articles and not knowing what to do, to help improve existing articles while, at the same time, getting to know the basic guidelines and policies.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. Hope this helps, MuZemike (talk) 23:12, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
