Your edit to Church (building)[edit]

Hello! I was a little confused by the edit you made to Church (building), so I reverted it. I'd be happy to explain why if you're interested. It could be a mistake on my part, so I'm open to discussing it! If you were just practicing, you can try our sandbox, where you can make any edit you'd like. - Master of Hedgehogs (converse) (hate that hedgehog!) 23:50, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest that you were mistaken in doing so? I think I forgot to summarise so I get why a person not expert in ecclesiastical canon law why not understand my edit but I’ll briefly explain.
  • The parish is the most fundamental type of church building yet it’s not listed under “types of church” in church building. That is a serious oversight. which my edit sought to address
  • The standard list of normal categories of Catholic, orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican et al buildings was also not in alphabetical order. My edit corrected that.
  • chapel had no definition. I have given it a very complete and precise definition.
On prior consideration can you reverse your reverse? I need a page to be able to show the distinction between the both a “conventual church” and a parish for another article and my edit will greatly improve the readers sense of the variety and intersection of the different canonical definitions a church may fall under Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 00:04, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also sorry for not summarising if I forgot. That was a stupid error and wasted your time and mine Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 00:06, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Correction “why a person not expert in canon law may not understand” - that’s how it should have read Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 00:07, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just to argue (even I fear labour) the point a little further: 😅 the categories listed refer to tens of thousands of historical structures all over the world, many in my home town. It is really important that info boxes have something to link to Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 00:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On my talk page[edit]

Hello! You kind of broke my talk page header when thanking me. I would like it if you instead clicked "New section" and thanked me, before signing with four tildes, or ~~~~. - Master of Hedgehogs (converse) (hate that hedgehog!) 12:16, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’m ever so sorry. I’m really not tech savvy at all but quite good on the subjects I’m editing so it’s been a lot of switching between medieval county records and editing skills. Interaction skills are completely non existent as yet. I’ll avoid in future unless I can see a clear response button to use Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 18:01, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry again for causing trouble Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 18:01, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Hey, the servers are still up and running and the site hasn't gone up in a massive mushroom cloud. :) -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 18:06, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reassurance. It’s at once all so exciting… getting to set out the very underdeveloped history of my ancient city which has till now been hidden away in great tomes in the university library… and also so so confusing… with the [[]] and the [[#]] and the and the {{}}. I’m picking it up slowly but thanks so much for the encouraging word 😅 Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 18:11, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to drop by my talk page if you ever have any questions. (Obviously the Teahouse and Help desk are also good options.) -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 18:14, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Will do… especially when complex new stuff like thanking other editors and such Me.Autem.Minui (talk) 18:20, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
