Renaming Robert King Whiteside to Robert Whiteside

[edit]

{{helpme}} I'm having trouble renaming my "Robert King Whiteside" article. How do I change the name to just "Robert Whiteside"? I've already tried to research the matter but have had no luck. The move page tab technique also appears to be unavailable to me as well. Thanks for the help. Mbjorangecast (talk) 20:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to be active for four days and have ten edits in order to move a page. I'll be happy to move it for you--but can you let me know why it should be moved? roux ] [x] 20:56, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When I initially put up the article I had thought the middle name would be a nice touch. However, when I simply tried searching for Robert Whiteside I discovered that it would tell me there were no matching results. I did not want the search to have a conclusion of no matches for his name and then a researcher for instance, would have to look through the closest matching results. Righto, just checking. I'm currently making some changes to the article; I'll move it when I'm done. You might also want to look at this page for some guidance. roux ] [x] 21:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the help your offering.

No problem. I've moved the article and I'm making a couple more changes. It needs a lot of work; the article needs to be broken up into logical sections (I'd recommoned a separate section detailing his artwork), you need more external references, and you should try and reduce the use of what we call 'peacock' words. You should probably read the link I gave you before, as well as how to make references, and then get to tidying up the article. Cheers! roux ] [x] 22:10, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Iolap.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 21:17, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Iolap.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Iolap.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.

Thank you. DASHBot (talk) 05:33, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article IOLAP has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable company. Despite the article's claims, I can find no reliable sources that confirm any of the text here. Fails WP:COMPANY.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 13:59, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated IOLAP, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IOLAP. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 19:36, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
