Since Nicholas Breakspear hadn't even made it to the status of monk before leaving England, and doesn't seem to have returned after that point it's more likely the school was named after him because he became pope, rather than anything he did for St Albans, don't you think? Since it's nothing to do with his life it belongs in a section near the tail end of the article rather than at the head. Of course, if you have some source material for your assertion...
