- Hello,
- I appreciate your concern but should tell you I am the Hon. Secretary of the Postal History Society.
- Founded in 1936 we are the oldest Society in the world dedicated to the study of Postal History.
- The former link at the bottom of the page "Postal History" which I amended - Postal History Society - had taken people to a site that was trying to sell them a domain name which had nothing to do with Postal History and nothing to do with the Postal History Society.
- I was merely changing an external link titled " Postal History Society" to become a link to our website.
- I would prefer it if the link " Postal History Society" went to our website, as is the case with all the other links on the same page, rather than to a page that is selling you a domain name "www, stampclub" or some such.
- I would ask you to please reconsider your decision to reverse what I believe is a legitimate request on behalf of a Society that was listed in links but the link did not take you to that Society.
- Thankyou

- Your edit didn't link to anywhere. It was general writing.
- As well, you writing on an article that you are associated with is in conflict with the conflict of interest policy. You can make suggestions in the talk page. Thecowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 16:09, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

- I believe I made a mistake the first time as I am not sure how this all works but I corrected it at the second attempt and I was certain the link had been amended and went to the place it should have gone to. I went back and clicked on it and it opened on the PHS website. Am I "not allowed" to correct an external link that purports to go directly to our Society and instead goes to a site that sells a domain name that has nothing to do with our Society. How can that be a Conflict of Interest? It is simply protecting the good name of the Society. MarcPHS (talk) 16:52, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- If you are affiliated with the organization in question, it’s a conflict of interest. Thecowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 16:53, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
