Yes, I work for François Robillard and Vision Montréal. I'm just putting online a basic wikipedia page because he was elected one week ago. I took his bio from the Vision Montréal and modified it to include the fact he was elected.

Copyright and conflict of interest

I've deleted the article as it is a substantial copy of the copyrighted Vision Montreal page. You may not cut and paste from other websites. There are procedures for providing permission for a freely-licensed version for use on Wikipedia, and you may pursue this avenue if you wish. I'll post a link (once I find it) for a way to provide email assurance that Vision Montreal's copyright is respected while posting the content. Don't be discouraged, we just have to be extra-careful about respecting copyrights. M. Robillard appears to meet Wikipedia notability criteria. There's no reason the article can't be written from scratch, rather than re-using the problematic text - it would then become a source (although newspaper articles would be better). You still have the conflict of interest, and I would observe that employees of politicians have gotten unwanted publicity by editing their employers' bios, apart from Wikipedia policy. Thank you again for your time. I'm aware of the conflict fo interest and the possibility of bad publicity. But if I don't put this online, who will? And I don't claim that he walks on water and will save the world, just that he've been elected as a city councillor.

That's a reasonable way to put it. I declined the deletion request, as he meets Wikipedia's notability requirements. You should look at WP:RS for ways to add sourcing, as sourcing and attribution will still be needed for a quality article. Acroterion _(talk) 05:20, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
