Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Thank you so much for the guidelines. If this happens, one of my edits has some issues. Please don't hesitate to let me know. Marble cliffs (talk) 14:53, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Marble cliffs! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Threads (social network) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Redraiderengineer (talk) 17:44, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello  Redraiderengineer! Thanks for letting me know. I'll be more careful with my edits in the future. Your notice helps me improve how I edit articles. I might overlook minor issues like that. Your reminder is really helpful for improving the quality of my edits. Marble cliffs (talk) 09:48, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Marble cliffs. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to BetterMe, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Marble cliffs. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Marble cliffs|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 15:25, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to BetterMe while logged out. Please be mindful not to perform controversial edits while logged out, or your account risks being blocked from editing. Please consider reading up on Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts before editing further. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 09:08, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
