Autobiographies[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 19:38, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't me is a professional football player. I can obliviously see from your request that you have no idea who this person is. Please refrain from messing with the page again Thank you MagnusWolfEikrem (talk) 19:41, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator[edit]

{{adminhelp}}

I made the page Magnus Wolf Eikrem recently, however I misspelt "wolff" as "wolf". Therefore I tried to change it to Magnus Wolff Eikrem but this page is locked due to it being made when the player wasn't important. I would like Magnus Wolf Eikrem to be renamed Magnus Wolff Eikrem is that is not a problem?

--MagnusWolfEikrem (talk) 08:18, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{Comment from non-admin) - the request to move the page looks fine to me; I agree that he is now notable per google news and Man U Reserves, etc.
However, You need to change your username. As you are not this famous person...
Do not edit under the name of a well-known living person unless it is your real name, and you either are that well-known person or you make it clear that you are not. Such usernames may be blocked as a precaution. (from WP:UPOLICY). So, I suggest you head over to WP:CHU to request a different name. Sorry about that, and I hope you understand.
(Re. the renaming of the article, I'm sure an admin will deal w/ that ASAP)  Chzz  ►  09:06, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently he is better known as Magnus Eikrem. Shouldn't that be the artice's name according to the standard naming conventions? Favonian (talk) 09:42, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since the vast majority of Google hits (and all the references in the article) use simply Magnus Eikrem, I have renamed the article to that. Furthermore, I have unprotected Magnus Wolff Eikrem and redirected it to the article. Favonian (talk) 13:11, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Magnus Wolf Eikrem has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not yet notable - 0 appearances for Manchester United

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I removed the proposed deletion; I'm sure he is notable (Google News, etc).  Chzz  ►  13:04, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Magnus Eikrem for deletion[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Magnus Eikrem, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Magnus Eikrem until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ron Ritzman (talk) 16:45, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, instead of putting Magnus Eikrem on your user page, you can make it into a subpage instead i.e. User:MagnusWolfEikrem/Magnus Eikrem. You don't have to even store it at all if you don't want to, as I've saved it at User:Half price0/Magnus Eikrem anyway. Thanks. —Half Price 18:47, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
