Proposed deletion of Language of logic

The article Language of logic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Thin essay, largely redundant to Logic, Formal semantics, etc.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hairhorn (talk) 14:42, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD template in Language of logic

Hi MPeterHenry, you removed the template that explains to viewers of the page that a deletion discussion is currently taking place here. This is not helpful. Contrary to the PROD warning above, this AfD template (which I just reinstated) should remain for as long as the discussion is live. I'm not sure what to make of this article. Would you be willing to say at the AfD a bit about where you want the article to go? The crucial thing that would justify the article to me would be a citation that justifies an article separate from the articles in the See also sections. If you want time to figure out where the article is going, it is possible to userfy the article, i.e., move it under your user page while the article takes shape, so that a decision about what to do with the article can be made when it is clearer what the article is. — Charles Stewart (talk) 10:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MPeterHenry. The discussion concerning the language of logic article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Language of logic has concluded, and as the closing adminstrator, I have taken the option Charles describes above of moving the article to your userspace at User:MPeterHenry/Language of logic so that you (and others) can develop it in peace. I encourage you to accept the offers of help from other editors interested in logic, and to get the article into shape to return to the encyclopaedia space. Invitation to the logic project

Hi, it looks as if you are a logician. You may want to "join" Wikipedia:WikiProject Logic by "watching" the page or, equivalently, its talk page at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Logic. A message there alerted me to the fact that your article (exists and) has a deletion discussion.

I hope you will stay even though (or because, like most people) this place often feels more like a massively multi-player online roleplaying game than like a place where an encyclopedia is being written. If you do stay, you will soon find out that Carl (User:CBM), a proof theorist, is not just very good at keeping some degree of sanity and harmony in this part of Wikipedia, but that he is also a very competent admin. I will be travelling over the next two weeks, so I suggest that you contact Carl with any questions about Wikipedia. Or of course me, once I am back from Sofia. Regarding the Language of logic article, the material in the introductory paragraph is, as far as I have seen, not covered anywhere else on Wikipedia, and material on that topic would be very welcome.
