Thanks for the welcome[edit]

I have never contributed to Wikipedia before but have long been an admirer of it. I was impelled to begin adding to the site in response to the bias on the Canadian political scene introduced, no doubt, by Canadian conservatives.

I thought I'd reply here, since I'm not sure you're used to the page watching thing. First of all, don't worry about what you're doing right or wrong. As long as you're not vandalizing, you'll all right. It took years to learn about 1% of the things I can do here. I'm not sure anyone knows every little corner of Wikipedia. I agree that this place has a lot of awful articles. Maybe 1% of the articles are worthy of serious research. However, since Wikipedia is often at the top of every search result, we either ignore it, or we try to make it better. I work on medical articles, because I thought they were a travesty. But I don't have the time in my life to work on them all, so I've focused on a few. Do what you can. The above links are great for figuring out things. Use WP:CITET to creat citations, but you don't have to. It just makes it cleaner. Always use reliable sources and verify everuything. Also, don't forget to sign with ~~~~ (four tildes). Thanks for the reply. I am not sure I 'get' the signing thing. Does that mean I should end each post with the tildes? I don't think you mean that since I don't see those anywhere else.

Thanks for the info on the citations. I think I am doing it more or less right...at least the links work and I've created footnotes. I see what you mean by the repeated refs.

2011 Canadian Federal Election[edit]

Just letting you know I've reverted your addition to the Issues section because it is considered a Controversy. I suggest that you add it in the controversy section. If you disagree, the best thing to do is to bring it up on the talk page, and reach consensus there before adding your material again. I wasn't actually done editing it yet. It did need fixing but I'm not sure what is controversial about this. Its just another issue. Is there a suggestion that the attacks on signs and cars didn't happen?
