Help

{{help}}How do I get the raw script for a menu bar on my userpage? The ones that have "My usepage (with a piture),My Talk Page (With a picture)" and so forth.

Mìthrandir (talk) 21:46, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

You can make one yourself. There is no "script", if you know HTML/wikitext, you may make one. Or copy/paste the text from someone else's and change the links/pics/etc.--fetchcomms 21:53, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
A number of menus are available at Wikipedia:User page design center/Menus and subpages with instructions on how to use them on your own page. --Mysdaao talk 21:59, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Welcome back

Hi, Mìthrandir. I thought my 'welcome' might be useful to you, as you have been away for a while. So, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  19:14, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

File source problem with File:Navigation.png

Thank you for uploading File:Navigation.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:47, 3 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:47, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

I found out how to login... Can you delete Mithrandir2? Thanks for your time! Mìthrandir (talk) 22:47, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

You can't delete this account as far as I know, as your edits must be attributed. However, you may simply abandon the account if you so choose. Airplaneman 00:30, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on China Fire and Security Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 01:04, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

China Fire and Security

Check it out! I've added some more information, with some more on the way when I have some time. Looks good, interesting company, though. Cheers! ► Wireless Keyboard ◄ 01:46, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

CSD notification

Please don't forget to notify the creator of an article when you nominate for CSD, e.g. Vippy--SPhilbrickT 14:50, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Do you have Wikipedia:Twinkle? If not, it will be invaluable if you plan to mark CSD or warn vandals. If you use it to mark a CSD it automatically has an option to leave a message for the author. Try it, you'll like it.--SPhilbrickT 14:55, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Reverting edits to Aqua (video game)

Hey, just checking in as to why my edits were reverted at Aqua (video game) - the article is currently under reconstruction (per the tag at the top of the page). I've AGF reverted your edits, but I'm curious as to why you reverted mine. Thanks. --Teancum (talk) 14:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I know that I might have Lupin's anti vandal tools, but will you send me the link anyway? Thanks... Also check this out... :) Autopatrolled Request Mìthrandir (talk) 22:28, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Finding templates

I find it useful to add this template {{Wikipedia template messages}} to the bottom of my user page. Then, if I need a template, it is easy to find. For example, click on "show" (on the right), and you will see "deletion" Click on that and you will see all the templates for deletion, including all the speedy delete templates.--SPhilbrickT 22:42, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

My Talk page

Why did you revert my own edit to my own talk page? 99.164.85.35 (talk) 22:49, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Actually, I agree with the above.
Mithdandir, the editor is quite welcome to remove messages from their own talk - there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe it was just a mistake?  Chzz  ►  22:52, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Quia Logo.PNG

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Quia Logo.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Armbrust Talk Contribs 23:10, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
