May 2009[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Katrina Carlson, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 00:10, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia, because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes of a company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

In addition, accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing, and your username should reflect this.

Wikipedia is not a promotion website; this kind of activity is considered spam on Wikipedia, and forbidden by policies, and usernames that appear to be promotional also violate our username policy. Editing on Wikipedia is not intended to be used to promote anyone, or anything, and its use for that purpose will result in blocking of the account involved.

If you feel that there has been a mistake, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below or contacting the administrator who has blocked you. Your reason should include a clear response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy. Please check that your new username has not already been taken here.

{{unblock|Please unblock my account and change my user name to LisaSmith76. I am not representing a company, I only created a username that related to the content I submitted. I apologize for the mistake.}}

Note: Before I respond to your unblock request, I have a question: Are you, or do you have any relationship to, the subject of the article you created? —Travistalk 01:31, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have been a huge fan of hers for a long time and am an acquaintance of people who know her...would that be a conflict? I tried to put up as much information that could be properly referenced. I would like to go back and fix the other citations that are needed. If you decide not to unblock me, will the entire article be removed from the site? - Lisa

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing name change to LisaSmith76 (talk · contribs) or any other username of your choice. (You are free to use your real name, but use caution; see WP:U). Please put a request in at WP:CHU as soon as possible.

Request handled by: Mangojuicetalk 12:09, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Your old username[edit]

Somebody created a new account under your old username of Kataphonic, and went straight to editing the article Katrina Carlson and nothing else. I will do you the common courtesy of assuming good faith, that this is somebody else rather than you; but it created a problem here, since there was a redirect under that name to your talk page. I've blocked that new account as a spamusername, but thought you should be notified that this complication has arisen. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
