A tag has been placed on File:American Bullnese Breed Standard.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Two images have been deleted from my wiki article on the American Bullnese. American Bullnese Breed Standard.jpg and American Bullnese Original Pair.jpg. These images were released to me under a public domain license for use. I worked hand in hand with the creator of the American Bullnese breed, via interviews, to create the article. As you can see on the dogbreedinfo.com website, all of their images are courtesy of the American Bullnese Association and are not copyright of dogbreedinfo.com. The American Bullnese Association and Robert Rice released these images to the public domain during the creation of the wiki article on the breed. Can you help me to get these undeleted and restored to the wiki article?

You should contact user Stefan2 (talk) who signed the message just above. Click on "talk" after his name, and then on "New section" at the top of his talk page, to leave him a message. He will advise you how to provide proof that these images are in the public domain. Just saying they are PD is not enough - copyright is a serious legal issue for Wikipedia. Changing your signature to match that of a different editor, with the intention of deceiving, is simply not acceptable. Please do not repeat your behaviour. GiantSnowman 18:40, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That was an editing mistake on my part during a cut and paste operation and not an intentional change. Implying that my behavior was intentional seems heavy-handed.LibbyJax

American Bullnese

[edit]

Hi LibbyJax,

I just thought I would drop by and explain why I added the SPA tag over at the articles for deletion discussion as I think it has upset you, which was not my intention. It's really just to let other editors quickly know the article under discussion has been your only interest so far. I can see American Bullnese are something you're passionate about and you've put a lot of hard work into the article.

I hate templates as they are so impersonal and can be quite daunting despite attempts to make them otherwise - it certainly looks as if you've been blitzed by more than your fair share of them. Typing text into a computer can never convey the nuances of holding a proper conversation, so sometimes it's difficult not to appear brusque but most of the time that's not the intention of editors, it can just come across that way. Honestly, we're not trying to be ogres, although I guess it may feel like that to you at the moment.

Although I may personally feel the American Bullnese does not yet meet notability criteria, many other editors may completely disagree. Try seeing the AfD process as a way of getting more editors looking at the article who probably would never have come across it otherwise. Although I don't know the figures, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of articles put through the process survive it and become better articles because of it. For instance, I can see that TKK, who nominated it for AfD, has also been trying to work on the article to help improve it. If you've found more sources, there is no reason why you can't add them to the article where appropriate; again, the intention is to benefit articles and in doing so, improve Wikipedia.

As I said, it is still my opinion the American Bullnese does not presently meet notability criteria but it's not just up to me. AfD is a way of obtaining the opinion of a much wider number of other editors, many of them with vast experience of WP policies, the reliability of sources etc. and a whole load of them could very well disagree with me - most people do disagree with me about all sorts of things.

If you've got any questions, the Teahouse can be a great place to ask. There's a bunch of really helpful, experienced editors over there; I know when I was feeling really disheartened about some things on Wikipedia, they were more than helpful.
