Benjamin[edit]

I'm inclined to agree that Benjamin being the fifth "person of Jewish descent" (whatever that means) is a lot less significant than being the first practicing Jew in the Senate, first Jew nominated to the Supreme Court, first Jew to hold a national cabinet position in North America. I'm a bit dubious that it needs to be at the top of the article. Perhaps it would be better in the discussion of his election to the Senate? Wehwalt (talk) 17:57, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As such a prolific Wikipedian, I'm genuinely baffled by how confused you are about common phrases such as "of ____ descent" or to "practice ____." If you genuinely do not know the meaning of "Jewish descent," please consult the page on Jews, where it is fully explained in the Identity section as well as used in the Contributions section. To be clear, this is not meant to be disrespectful; I just think that it's unusual that you brought up confusion twice. I'd have two nickels, according to the saying...
On a more relevant note, thank you for moving it into a more appropriate section. While you reverted my edits instead of finding a source yourself, it did help me gain more insight into the topic, and the bit about him being the first to practice Judaism was actually wrong. The sentence is fine staying where it is now. LeftyTightyRightyLoosy (talk) 22:18, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
