Archeage edits
My edits were valid and were constructive to any potential gamer looking to spend their money on a game that is full of issues that go ignored. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.122.222.54 (talk) 08:09, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for helping my English spelling at SL ferries, the "r" in "headquarters" surelly is difficult for a person whose native language is Swedish (Scanian dialect). I usually self-patrol my larger edits after a week or so. During the first couple of days, reading my own text for grammar or spelling errors is next to impossible, as the mind kind of play some tricks. However this was an error I never would have found myself. Thanks again Boeing720 (talk) 00:59, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting but this is not a good faith edit. Page protected due to IP vandalism of a more serious nature. Check edit history. Yours, Quis separabit? 18:12, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping.I assumed good faith and gave an edit warning to the user as there were none on the user's talk page. May be then if it persists it can be escalated further appropriately. Lakun.patra (talk) 18:19, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
Warning vandals
Hi. Thanks for patrolling recent changes. I have blocked 80.42.139.70 (talk · contribs) after they disregarded your warning, but if a user or IP has no previous warnings you should not normally go straight to a Level 4 final warning - only in extreme cases like attack pages. Otherwise, if there have been no previous warnings, start on Level 1 (assuming good faith) or, if the edit is obviously not made in good faith, level 2. That would have been appropriate here. The warnings are listed at WP:VANDAL#Warnings. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:13, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. Will keep that in mind. Lakun.patra (talk) 19:15, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
Tricks of the trade
If the language isn't obvious, drop it into Google Translate and select Detect language. If that doesn't come up with anything, drop a bit of the thing into Google. This can often give clues by the domain extensions, or other things. And if the whole bit comes up, you may well have a copyvio to tag... Peridon (talk) 14:11, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Lakun.patra. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — MusikAnimal talk 18:08, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Impressed
With the small amount of time that you have been registered you seem to be very prolific. Judging by your recent contributions to an article I just created last night, you also seem to be patrolling articles for vandalism, and nonsense etc., and take time to correct spelling and ad appropriate templates. Thank you for your help! Happy editing.--Mark Miller (talk) 18:05, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
- I can suggest a few things based on the talk page. If you see an article that you feel does not fit the criteria for notability and feel it does not need a stand alone, there are procedures that are within guidelines for merging without a proposal. It generally depends on if it will be a controversial or contentious merge that would be disputed or debated such as when there are active editors working on the article. You can also redirect an article without merging content if you feel it is already covered and there is no original content in the article instead of proposing a deletion if the title is an alternative search option such as a slightly different spelling that is still accurate but perhaps uses special characters (although the use of such characters is permitted, so sometimes it is better request an admin move non-controversial articles to merge the history) or vice versa. If you ever have questions about merging you can ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Merge.--Mark Miller (talk) 18:34, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for the tips. Will be implementing these ASAp. Thanks. Lakun.patra (talk) 18:59, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Jo Eun-ji edit
My source is the Korean Movie Database entry for How to Steal a Dog [1], though the character names are in Hangul and I translated them into English for the film's Wikipedia article. I don't think it's necessary for each character/role listed in an actor's filmography to be referenced (and in Jo Eun-ji's case, none of them are). 103.14.60.55 (talk) 20:25, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

footnotes/Kykhta trade
You added a citation request to Kyakhta trade. My POV is that Wikipedia in currently adding too many footnotes. Footnotes are only needed when the information cannot be found in the index of the main source or there is some other problem. As far as I can see the article does not need more footnotes. February 2015
Hello Lakun.patra. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), or content (CSD A3), moments after they are created, as you did at Broker maritime. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. - MrX 15:31, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Turkey slap: I would like to understand why you reinstated unsupported controversial material
I would love to know the reason why my change was reverted, so I can avoid making whatever mistake it was in the future. I edited the article Turkey slap to remove ", also called Turkish slap". That phrase had been removed previously by another editor, but put back in my the original editor without comment. Sp I checked and confirmed, as the previous person who deleted it said, that it was not supported by any of the references, so I removed it again. I was surprised to see that you reverted my change, and put the unsupported phrase back in - can you help me to understand the reason for this please?--Gronk Oz (talk) 17:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Gronk Oz It was not your change which i wanted to revert but changes of Arzole on whose edits you had changed. So reverted back to last stable edit before Arzole's . Hi Lakun, thank you for your edit over East India Comedy, I noticed that you put ' ' at some places in the article. May I know what it is and why did you do that? I wanted to learn about it so just asked. Keep up the good work. Mr RD 09:26, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

The Change Foundation UK - page deletion and help
Hi Lakun - thanks for your speedy work on deleting the article I was trying to create. I have just started in Wikipedia and am very much a beginner. Could you please find it in yor heart to restore that page so that I can practise creating articles and using Wikipedia without fear of deletion. Al (Al Ramsay (talk) 14:09, 18 March 2015 (UTC))
- HI Al Ramsay. First of all welcome to Wikipedia. Articles on Wikipedia needs to have a minimum content or else will be speedily deleted. If you need to practice editing or need more time to write an article having substantial content then you can use your sandbox. Thank you. Lakun.patra (talk) 14:14, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi Lakun.patra - OK thank you for the advice. Does that mean I can still have access to that page whilst I practice? How do I get it back from deletion once I have practiced and am ready for possible publication? Thanks Al (Al Ramsay (talk) 15:03, 18 March 2015 (UTC))
- If there was anything significant you can ask the administrator who deleted it to restore and move it to draft. But that also has so many things after which they may give access. Another thing is you can start from scratch and write it in your sandbox. Lakun.patra (talk) 19:56, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Orphaned Lion Rock Spirit
Hello, I am Desmond. Thank you for reviewing our page Lion Rock Spirit. I have noticed that you have considered our page as an orphan. After noticing this problem, I have tried to add Further information, Further readings, See also, categories, and a box showing the Hong Kong topics to the page. Do you think this is enough to consider our page as deorphanaged? If otherwise, please give us some suggestions to improve the page. Thank you.
Gpa4444 (talk) 07:06, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Gpa4444 Orphan means that it is not linked from any other page. You can check by checking the "What links here" and see if the article is linked from any other article. Be advised that linking from talk pages or disambig pages does not means that the article is not Orphan. It should be linked from mainspace articles only. Lakun.patra (talk) 09:03, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I have noticed that Lion Rock Spirit is mentioned in the page Below the Lion Rock. It is also mentioned in the page in Chinese, translated as the core values in Hong Kong. How can the Lion Rock Spirit article be link to other articles that are related to our article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpa4444 (talk • contribs) 09:34, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of FELIX BINOBO
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on FELIX BINOBO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. RichardOSmith (talk) 09:05, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

IPs
This may not interest you, so if it doesn't, just ignore it. You warned an IP a little while ago for an edit to an article on my watchlist. I clicked on the WHOIS link to see what I could find, and noted that there was an acronym and a website link. That turned out to be an educational internet supplier, so I then added that name as a shared educational IP to the IP's talk page. And then, as I'm an Admin, did a school block. When we can identify an IP address with an organisation we can be pretty sure that blocking it will help as the IP address isn't likely to be assigned to someone else shortly. A bit of detective work is sometimes involved, which can be fun. Dougweller (talk) 19:33, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

- I thought "Reviewed" simply meant somebody has checked it — not that the article passed all the criteria. What do you think? BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 16:29, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah in literary sense it means the same. But at least the minimum criteria should be met. Lakun.patra (talk) 04:29, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Online Cultus
Hi Lakun.patra I am writing you about an article i created and it was deleted (Speedy deletion, G11, G12) about Online Cultus. I am new on Wikipedia and i don't have much experience creating articles. I do understand why the page was deleted and I wrote another article about Online Cultus that i believe won't brake the rules. I want to know if it is ok to proceed with creating it or is there any way to test the article before i save it? I apologize for my lack of knowledge. __Goranot89 (talk) 19:01, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Goranot89 Keep in mind that do not copy paste the content from some website. Another thing if you have WP:COI then please do not write the article as you may be biased. The latter is not a rule but a suggestion on my part. You can submit your article for AFC review rather than directly creating it. Lakun.patra (talk) 12:03, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Keeping Wikipedia Expanding Not Shrinking
Hello User:Lakun.patra sorry for disturbing you. The reason I am writing you is we all love Wikipedia and we want it expanding. However there is a discussion going on to delete a notable game article because of biased opinions. I saw that you edited this article: Dokapon_Ikari_no_Tekken and let it stay for further expansion, update and keep growing Wikipedia even though it has no references. But I am also totally agree with you to let articles stay for improvements and expand Wikipedia. So I believe you are a neutral, professional, objective and who believes in expanding Wikipedia not shrinking it type of person. So I would like you to check out this discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/MonsterMMORPG_(2nd_nomination) and make your comment based on references it has. References are here Talk:MonsterMMORPG. Please feel free to delete my message to you after you read it. Thank you very much have a nice day.176.233.41.152 (talk) 14:08, 15 April 2015 (UTC) |

Formatting using Advisor.js
Hi, I noticed that you tried to format the article United States using an automated tool. I'm pretty sure you clicked fix for every problem it displayed on the toolbar. Next time please don't do so while Advisor.js scans the entire article for formatting errors there are some parts which aren't meant to be formatted. For example image links, citations, templates, talk pages and URLs. When looking at your contributions I can see that you performed lots of edits using Advisor.js. Assuming that you didn't check those article twice I'm going to comb through your edits in order to fix if you have made more errors. I hope you'll help me out in the process. I'm not saying that Advisor.js is a bad tool. In fact I use it too. But next time be careful not to format HTML content and templates. Thank you--Chamith (talk) 08:04, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the effort to revert back my changes. I just missed out the formatting errors. Will keep a tab next time. Thanks. Lakun.patra (talk) 10:39, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Please be advised that this is not a social networking site. Please read Wikipedia policies first. It will be of much help. Thanks. Lakun.patra (talk) 09:24, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Hello, it's obvious wiki is not a social networking site. But I think this article is worth writing upon. Yes I wrote 2 because Shekhar Chatterjee already exists but different one. Rollback:List of schools in India.
Hey. Youre contributions are well appreciated, however, both criteria for notability and the action for non-notable schools in the entire schools of india page set is currently under consensus discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Schools_in_India_-_overview . Please go through the discussion and wait for consensus to be reached. Till then I think its in the bets interests to rollback the 4-5 edits youve mad eon the various school pages. Also, you have simply removed the redlink list items, a few of them may even have verifiable sources or wiki pages which are just not linked.
Non-notable schools can be
- Removed
- Shifted to talk page.
Also Notability can be defined by
- having a wiki article
- having a citable source
The above conditions are currently under discussion at the above link. I'll wait for you inputs there. Cheers. Anonymousbananas (talk) 06:08, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

AWB and foreign languages
Hi there. Please be careful when using AWB: you passed it over Arta portretului şi a naraţiunii în opera cronicarilor moldoveni and it misguidedly imagined itself capable of spellchecking Romanian. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:57, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Orphan Article
I posted a new article. A short time later you designated it an orphan. You should relax and calm down. Seligne (talk) 17:03, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- As another person who patrols new articles and tags them, I would suggest that if mundane Wikipedia maintenance activities agitate you enough to scold a person who performs them, then perhaps it's you who needs to relax and calm down enough to recognize that that's routine procedure around here. Do you feel that the article, which is an orphan, shouldn't be tagged as one? —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:23, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- BFD, I patrol articles as well. Aren't we swell? My point is that a newborn article can only rarely be anything but a orphan. Give it a couple of hours at least. I suggest that you review the meaning of the word "scold". I did not scold. I whinged and I remonstrated.Seligne (talk) 18:44, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know how often a couple of hours makes a difference. What is the likelihood that someone is going to go out of his way to link other article to a new article? Of course, it would be more likely if we had a way to make it so that people interested in precisely that activity, creating links to new articles, had a way to see, listed in one place, a list of all such articles that are orphans .... :-p
- It does feel to me as though you see tagging as punitive rather than helpful, and therefore something to be held off on until one is confident of its necessity. I feel the opposite. What is it that one would be holding off for?
- Also, note that Lakun.patra was patrolling with AWB, which pretty much does what it's going to do, without consideration for the age of the article! —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:51, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Seligne I do understand your concerns but what i gather from experience is that many articles are created by new Wikipedians. And most of them would have no idea as to what Orphan articles are. So if tags are placed they come back and ask how to eradicate this, or some one else will de-orphan those. I even after some time try to cross check articles tagged as orphan and try to de-orphan them. I do not see any reason as to how this showed that i am agitated. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
