Your edits to Canyelles[edit]

You were taking out stuff from the article, so I reverted it. (You can revert again, of course, if you want to. I don't know that much about it, just that information should be there...) ~user:orngjce223 how am I typing? 16:39, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Salut Ksnow, here you removed the demographics section and add garbage ?! what happens ? I just realize : here also. Alvar 17:03, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for your explanations; the demographic data move from a section to the infobox. The garbage ? [1] (and the 2 other diffs) you added « commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne in eastern France » to the geography section. Alvar 18:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Wappen grafenegg.gif is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:AUT Grafenegg COA.gif. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:AUT Grafenegg COA.gif]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 22:19, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bug[edit]

That's interesting. Have you tried to see if you can produce a similar experience on other sites, with text input fields that allow scrolling? Blog or forum comments perhaps, or feedback forms. It would probably be helpful to know if it's specific to Wikipedia, or if it's a more general issue that would need to be addressed on the Microsoft side. --Michael Snow (talk) 19:34, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ksnow, I am going to be asking a couple of users to help on this in order to get this done because it is a big task that I can't get it done all on my own quickly! Communes of Seine-et-Marne[edit]

You should consider to keep the link to intercommunality in the infoboxes of communes of Seine-et-Marne. I admit that you add a pipe to have a shorter name, but I don't see why you are removing links to existing articles. — M-le-mot-dit (T) 15:00, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In response to Ksnows question on my talk page: there are automatic links for arrondissements and cantons, not for the intercommunalities. That's more difficult to implement because there are no standard article titles for them. I have been removing links to intercommunalities from commune infoboxes I copied when I was sure there was no article in English wikipedia, which is the case for over 90% of intercommunalities. IMO most of them aren't notable, except for the agglomeration communities of the bigger cities. Maybe we should have a discussion about that. Also, many canton articles are still missing. A tag has been placed on Giuseppe Lucchini requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Edits to French communes[edit]

If you are going to make virtually identical edits to hundreds of articles (perhaps using a bot?), you really should take more than the ordinary level of care to ensure that you are inserting correct links; for example, to Limousin (region) rather than the disambiguation page Limousin; to Lorraine (region) rather than the disambiguation page Lorraine; etc. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 09:46, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Ksnow! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 8 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

The article Oberricken Pass has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A Google search for references[4] found no results except for Wikipedia mirrors.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Altamel (talk) 18:13, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not finding that IP address in any of the block logs. It's possible that the servers are seeing a different IP address, since this usually happens when one address is used as a "proxy" for a lot of different computers on the same network. When you get a block message, what IP address does it say was blocked? You may have to click on "show" for "What do I do now?" on the block message (if I understand the documentation correctly - it's sort of a bureaucratic mess of templates to even sort out what's going on). --Michael Snow (talk) 17:05, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads[edit]

Hi. I notice that most or all of your image uploads just say "copied from the French Wikipedia" or some such thing. In a lot of cases, the images have actually been moved to Commons, so there is no need for a local copy and, in fact, because the local copy doesn't have complete attribution information, it's not a good thing. Would you consent to me simply deleting the ones that are clearly on Commons, rather than going through the motions of 100 IFD nominations? Thanks. --B (talk) 00:09, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ksnow. When you copy an image like File:Wappen Brand Laaben.gif from another Wikipedia, you need to say who actually created the image. At de:Datei:Wappen Brand Laaben.gif, there is lots of information about this image that isn't mentioned here. With some of the images you uploaded, there are copies of similar versions at Wikimedia Commons already and so it's easier to just delete them. What I am asking for your permission to do is to delete the ones that are either unused or where there is a similar image at Commons, rather than going through the pro forma steps of nominating them for deletion and flooding your talk page with hundreds of deletion notices. --B (talk) 13:34, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You can use the template {{Information}}. But there are two separate issues: (1) some of your uploads have already been moved to Commons. Images at Commons do not need to also be stored locally. They can/should be deleted, but there is a pro forma process for doing so. What I am asking for permission to do is to dispense with that pro forma process and simply delete these. There's no point in wasting time updating attribution information for these since that information is correct at Commons and as soon as I delete the local copy, the Commons version will show through. (2) Some of your uploads are not at Commons. One of two things needs to happen here - either (a) copy the relevant information from the page that you got it from or (b) move the other version to Commons. If you will give me permission to do so, I will take care of problem #1 without slamming your talk page with hundreds of notifications. Then you can take care of problem #2 with the rest of your uploads. --B (talk) 13:46, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Articles about places in Brittany[edit]

Please do not unlink Brittany (administrative region), which is a direct link to the correct page, in favour of Bretagne, which is a redirect to the article about the historic province and not the present-day region, apart from not being the English name of the region. If an article about a Breton place says "Inhabitants of Plovloff are called in French Plovlovains", please do not delete "in French". The inhabitants are not called Plovlovains in other languages, including Breton. In the infobox, there is no need to add "region= ", because the function is carried out by the INSEE field. Thank you for your consideration. Moonraker (talk) 04:32, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:98px-Kesswil.GIF needs authorship information.[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:98px-Kesswil.GIF appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Ksnow/Archive 3}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:22, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
