Also,List of best-selling albums worldwide, could you help me with this article. I need to go through it removing dubious sources and replacing them with fact tags. Its a long list so i could do with your help. I had the article on semi protection but when we have finished the fact tags im going to ask that it be removed, in the hope that these ip adresses can be useful and find good sources. When i get the semi protection removed, could you put the article on your watch list, checking any figures / sources are reliable when these ip addresses add them? Your total mainspace edits is the second one down, and that's the one we go by. I see you've gone over the 500 now, so I can approve you. You might want to start building up a list of links to useful pages you always visit, if you save them together somewhere it makes life easy. Your edit at WP:MoS

We prefer the html code to the diacritic or typographer's symbol for a number of symbols. I'm not positive that the diacritic ring that you inserted is one of them, but it probably is. The reasons are that html is likely to be preserved when the text is copied outside Wikipedia, and the diacritic is not; also, it is nearly impossible to look at those little circles and figure out what they are without the html code. Yes, it was. I was debating with myself on which bands I should take out. If you look at the PR, Rurhfisch says that, per WP:WEIGHT, some of the band names should be taken out. My experience is that bands setting out go through a number of options; in this case, certainly "Johnny & The Moondogs" and "Silver Beetles" should be in, to show the change from the garden-fete band to the finished lineup. "Silver Beetles" also undelines the influence of Buddy Holly & The Crickets in the name. That's how I'd do it, all referenced, of course. Hope that helps. --Rodhullandemu 21:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

My dad just helped me. He has 30 years of experience with computers. Use the search feature for files and search by date. Use the advanced options. Then after finding the file follow the advice above from kodster. Or send it to desktop to create a shortcut. I found it and did it all successfully or rather my dad did it. I'm not sure if we'll have a chance at List of best-selling albums worldwide becoming FL. It looks like there's too many source-related problems with it. This isn't an easy list to improve. List/semi protection

Nice user page, hope your having a good trip, yeah it probably should be semi protected, we dont need those ips anymore, im really unhappy about that review or more accurately wiki policy. If we construct a list from multiple sources its original research and if we use the one source its a copy vio? WTF!? Im not being funny but thats a direct clash lol. I think we should just try to get the sources up to date (eg 2005 onwards), sort out the lead and go for it again in a few months. Hopefully different people will react differently to it. Ive requested protection, it might take a few days, i went to the guy that always does that page, hes often busy. Yeah, lets just try and get the sources up to date, bulk up the lead and consider changing the wording to "claim". It might be enough to sway people in the future. Hey Realist2. I talked to Xp54321 about his signature, and he directed me to you, the designer of his signature. I think it's the orange in his signature is a bit too bright (similar to yours). Okay. Here's the list of Best Picture winners. Here's the link by the Oscars website [6] that says exactly what this list does. I have two questions:

1. Is that copyright violation? (I just want to make sure.)
2. How would this be referenced? With footnotes, or could it just be put in a "References" section by itself w/o footnotes?

I don't think it's a copyvio to extract some information from its source, as long as you credit it. It's OK, in my experience, if you just list the site as an external reference. It's not the information itself that can be copyrighted, just the way it's presented, and as long as you don't do it word for word, I don't see a problem. Okay, a global account is ONE account that you can use for ALL the different accounts you have. So, you only have to log in once to be logged in everywhere else. To activate it, go to "Preferences", click on the link next to "Global Account Status", type in your password at the bottom of the screen that pops up, and it will show you what other Wikis you're in (that have the same username). Then, just follow the instructions, and that's it.

OK, refTools. If you did it right, there should be a button right above the edit box called {{CITE}}. It should be the button to the far right, but it might not be. Anyway, click on the button. Six buttons will appear:

1. Web
2. News
3. Book
4. Journal
5. Named References
6. Cancel

Obviously, Cancel means "Cancel", so forget about that. The first four buttons refer to what type of source you have. "Web" means an Internet source, "News" means NEWSPAPER, "Book" means...book, and "Journal" means a magazine. Click on the button that correlates to the source you are citing, and boxes will appear. Fill in all the info you have about the source. Reference name means the name you're giving your reference when you say <ref name="name">. It has nothing to do with the article, but it makes it easier because if you want to use that same source again, you can just type <ref name="name" />, and the same source will be cited. It just makes it easier all the info again. Anyway, when you're done, click where you want the reference to go, and click "Add citation". The citation will be added for you automatically. The fifth button, "Named References", will give you the names of all the references you've used in the article. So, using this talk page as an imaginary article, I could click "name" in the menu that appears, and it will insert the <ref name="name" /> for me without me having to type it. Well no-one has commented at the FL review in ages so i dont know whats going on there, i guess its up to us to find updated claims and sort the lead. We can start at it when the FL closes, at the moment im quite pissed off by the whole policy contradiction.
