I don't understand your comment at the Talk page. However, I've started recasting the article to WP:GA standards, and maybe better. Lot more references, those unreferenced deleted. Well im not happy with how ive been treated, you asked me to review your article and despite the fact i had only just been up for nomination i reviewed it ahead of other articles, ive passed 2 beatles articles in 3 days, all of a sudden i cant be trusted to make an impartial decision. Looks like some dont forgive or apologise quickly. Still everything is cool with you and this is not your fault, i often find admins to be stuck in their ways. I noticed you mentioned singles in the lead, i like it, but i dont think we should use those singles as examples. Those music videos are already mentioned 2 lines below. Its actually getting closer to FA now. But citation formatting is a requirement of both awards. It could be perfect in very imaginable way but if the sources aint formatted it cant even get a GA. Aside from the stuff above, ive citation tagged your article for you, its actually not terribly undersourced, it looks worse than it actually is, i added about 15 tags. The real issue with it is pov, unprofessional language and length. Its way too long, some of it is unnessary, like the alternative versions section, its just not needed. - I almost feel like apologising because I've read through it a couple of times and really can't see how I could add to it. I think it's a really good article. It may deserve a section on the influence the track has had on pop music, but other than that I'm not sure. If I can find my ever-elusive copy of revolution in the head I could do a bit of work on the song structure section, but other than that I think it's great and you should be commended. GA fail for Aerosmith
I saw that you failed the Aerosmith article. I really think it would have been more advisable to put the article on hold instead, since what you are suggesting really only requires moving a few things around and not really seeking out any new information. I think it can easily be done in a week. But whatever, if it takes two weeks instead of one to get this article GA'd, so be it.
I understand your concerns with the lead, and will try to shorten down and summarize up the general gist of the band's rise-fall-comeback history in a paragraph without all the nitty-gritty details.
As far as an awards section, a separate article already exists (List of Aerosmith awards and achievements), which is found in the "See Also" section as well as the template. Is this acceptable? Our concern was that we didn't want the article to be too excessively long, by having multiple sections.
As far as separate sections on the band's singles, albums, and tours, these also have articles (Aerosmith discography, Aerosmith singles discography, Aerosmith concert tours). Or, I think what you're getting at, is instead of having sections like 1970s, 1980s, etc., you'd prefer to break it down like 1971-1974, 1975-1979, 1980-1984, etc. Is that correct? Please clarify.
Other than that, I'm glad the article meets all the other criteria. I'm just looking for some clarification before I go improving the article, so that way this article doesn't get failed three times because I misunderstood you. Abog (talk) 07:20, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
