Nazi membership number list

Hello, I saw that you created this list here: List of Nazis. I am thinking of creating a similar list, but only for the notable members for whom I can find their membership number and/or SS number. Regarding the Survivors of the Hamidian massacres category

Hello Keresaspa,

No idea - first time I've ever heard of the Hamidian massacre so I copied the equivalent categories from the Armenian Genocide one. In retrospect it doesn't make much sense but it was late and I hate uncategorised articles. By all means undo my edits as they make no sense but add the category to something suitable when you do (for instance Category:History of Armenia. Keresaspa (talk) 19:37, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

South East Antrim

I see this outfit have a new flag. I recall seeing it in Newtownards last summer but I thought I was surely mistaken as Newtownards is miles away from the turf of South East Antrim. Wouldn't it be more logical if it were an extension of the East Belfast Brigade or the hub of a North Down brigade or a local battalion. I encountered the flag again in Ballymena only this time I clearly seen Newtownards on the flag. Although it proved problematic to get a photo of it due to the direction of the wind. With regards to Ballycarry and Ballyclare, that makes more sense although Ballycarry itself is quite a small area and I surmising any activity there would be regulated by the "boys" nearby in Larne, Carrickfergus or Whitehead. Braidside is a little more esoteric. I assume this is referring to the course of the River Braid and it's path out of Ballymena towards Slemish. The only places there are Broughshane and the townlands/countryside of Buckna/Aughafatten. While these places are unquestionably loyalist I have never heard of any specific UDA actions in them. I had a cryptic feeling the more UDA visible areas like Ahoghill, Galgorm and Cullybackey were being referenced, these places are of course along the River Maine. Nearby Kells would possibly be UDA orientated but proving it with verifiable links is another story. A big thanks to Extramural activity for proving the existence of this new mural. I saw the mural myself, there's a pic of it on my Deviantart account. A few years ago I probably would have taken one for here too but, as well you know, uploading pictures is far too much of a thankless task round here these days. I haven't encountered the flags though, I'll have to keep an eye out for them. I was in Ballymena recently enough but I didn't venture outside the town centre.

My understanding is that Newtownards has, as you say, always been East Belfast Brigade although more of a UVF area really. Certainly I went to school with a lot of people from that area and it was only ever the UVF they mentioned although Frankie Curry's alleged killer was a Newtownards UDA man. However I do know that when some of the boyos from the Shankill moved out to north Down they retained their West Belfast Brigade membership and even set up a D Company, the insignia of which is still on the Bloomfield estate in Bangor. Presumably some of them must have left Rathcoole or somewhere like that for Ards too and done the same. Either that or some EBB ones have switched over to SEA because it's sort of dissident (its connection to the Real Ulster Freedom Fighters is unexplored on Wikipedia but for my part I've yet to find any reliable sources discussing that, even though I reckon they're pretty much identical).

That Ballycarry now has UDA in it doesn't shock me at all. I was up at Islandmagee a couple of years back as an away supporter with Donegal Celtic and they were by far the most hostile and sectarian crowd I had encountered in ages. And like you said it's near Carrick and Larne so it's an obvious area of expansion. Ditto Ballyclare, although in their defence the crowds there are a lot more civilised.

My understanding with Braidside had always been that once you left Ballymena you were in North Antrim and Londonderry Brigade territory, with Ballymoney being its main stronghold in County Antrim. There again that brigade seems to have been falling apart for the last few years so its conceivable that places in that Money-Mena hinterland are starting to switch over. Thinking about it now I do recall a mural in Ballycarry honouring "Grugg" Gregg a few years back. You're right about Ballymoney being the nerve centre of North Antrim UDA. Along with it's satellite villages of Dervock, Bushmills, Stranocum, and Mosside you have a pretty solid support base. The exception being Armoy, where the flags there opt for the UVF. Along the Mena/Money hinterland you have Cloughmills and Clough although most media reports indicate any rare paramilitary activity there would be the work of the town boys. Karol Sidor

Hello. I see you created Karol Sidor. While researching René de Chambrun, I found two references on Newspapers.com saying he was granted a US passport by 1947. It's not something I've encountered before but looking at the de Chambrun article they're both very reliable sources so definitely add it to Sidor's article as well. I'll look into it a bit more and see if I can dig up anything as to whether or not it was ever revoked. Outstanding work on the de Chambrun article by the way. Regarding Sidor's passport I did turn up this snippet view on Google Books suggesting, though not explicitly saying, that he entered Canada without a valid passport. Are you able to figure out how Pierre de Chambrun (and two red links at the bottom) as well as Charles de Chambrun (1875–1952) were related to Rene de Chambrun please? Maybe first cousins/nephews? I am not sure. Once we've figured it out, we can add them to his infobox. I also think his father fr:Aldebert de Chambrun needs to have an article in English, but I'd like to create a referenced start instead of translating mostly unreferenced content.Zigzig20s (talk) 13:57, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

The family itself has an article on the French Wikipedia. Assuming it's correct (and it is sourced so I would accept it) then Pierre, Charles and Aldebert were all brothers, the sons of Charles Adolphe Pineton de Chambrun, so based on that Pierre and Charles were his uncles. I agree with you that Aldebert could use an article on here as well but, as you point out, the French one isn't a very good starting point. Google Books isn't throwing too much up either. There is a distant relative Charles de Chambrun (1930–2010) (his second-cousin I think?), who joined the FN. Some of his family were resistants though: Gilbert de Chambrun and Jacqueline de Chambrun. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section.
