Thanks for the encouragement but I’m getting out of this rabbit hole before I get sucked in too deeply. Although I was warned it would be like this in advance, all the, “Yes it is, no it isn’t, yes it is, no it isn’t, yes it is, no it isn’t,” reminds me too much of the school playground. Evidently guys who get hooked on internet porn quickly loose the ability to have proper sex with a real woman. I think it’s the same for the whole web, you have the world at your fingertips and you slowly sink into isolation. I’m off to Normandy this weekend because on the other side of my front door is the real world while for most people on the web, for them Normandy is just one more word they tap on a keyboard. • Just between us (and whoever else happens to read this) I take the references from Klee directly from the relevant page on the German Wikipedia as I don't have access to a copy of the book (I've seen one though and it includes party membership numbers for each entry so it's definitely a legitimate source). If the German Wikipedia doesn't give a page number then I can't use it and in Eisele's case it didn't unfortunately. Google Books turned up the one I used. • I found one for Schumann eventually but nothing for Ullrich. The closest I came was a reference that he was an SA member but that's not quite the same. And Wikidata is pretty screwed up since they stopped editors doing it themselves. The bots often miss out articles on other Wikis now but there's no way to fix it. At your leisure you may want to go through the Waffen-SS at List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross recipients of the Waffen-SS, one at a time. I am quite confident that you have not tried these yet. In fact, several of these say in their articles that they joined the party (without citations, of course). He's a guy I've read plenty about down the years but I've never yet encountered anything describing him as a Nazi Party member. By all means they used his works as their template but by the time they had any significance he was far too ill and disillusioned for political activity. Well I hadn't left completely but had stopped creating articles and really just updated info and made corrections. When I came back from my summer holiday last year I discoverd that another editor (who has since been banned from all Troubles-pages) had gone around removong chunks of info and adding stuff about how the UDR had a strict vetting process. I'm sure information for the Rose & Crown bomb exists but, on a personal level, I just don't think it needs an article. I'm not a fan of having an article for every single incident in the Troubles as it essentially comes down to a value judgement of what deserves one and what doesn't. Then you end up with the usual sectarian rod-waving contests about whether dead Fenians are more important than dead prods or vice versa. For me big ones like Bloody Sunday, Bloody Friday, McGurks etc are fine but I'm just not into the idea of every incident getting an article. There's probably a couple on here already that I personally don't think need articles to be honest. But as I say, that's just my opinion so if you're happy to do it then good luck to you. As for the other bit I'll get round to it but I leant out my copy of Billy Boy recently so it won't be for a while. But remind me in a few weeks as I'll probably forget! If you do have stuff there are plenty of places to add it without creating a new article. It's just mentioned in passing in Ormeau Road so if you've uncovered anything it would be a great addition there. Or 1974 in Northern Ireland, which doesn't even mention it and, like pretty much all the "year in Northern Ireland" articles isn't very good as it stands. For my part I think my philosophy on article creation has changed in the last year or so. In the past I got carried away with it and there are some articles I personally created in the past that I now think probably weren't needed - specifically some of the more minor C Company figures I created, all of which have more or less the same content and a couple of non-NI ones about very minor groups that only existed for a few months. But as I say that's just me and you've made more edits that I have so if you think I'm wrong (wouldn't be the first time) get stuck in. Keresaspa (talk) 19:55, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Billy Snoddy

Thanks again for your work on Lindsey Mason, which has now appeared on the front page. I was investigating the possibility of an article on Bill/Billy Snoddy, and I wondered whether Snoddy the UDA member and Vanguard candidate was the same person as Snoddy the DUP councillor and Forum member? Good question! I can't seem to find a definitive answer but my gut tells me they're two different people. Highbeam turns the DUP guy up as a Citizens Advice Bureau head (possible job for an ex-UDA leader) and a school governor (less likely) and has a long enough article about his wife in which no mention is made of him being UDA (here if you have access). I also found a picture of him - for me he looks a bit young to have been a UDA boss in the early 70s although maybe he's just wore well and he does look a bit of a hardcase in that pic!
