This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ken Lamberton, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.kenlamberton.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. July 2008[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. NickContact/Contribs 01:19, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As a reminder, again, please read the above information. You have a very clear conflict of interest in creating and editing an article about yourself. Please make sure you have a full understanding of Wikipedia's guidelines regarding such editing. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 15:58, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

COI Notice[edit]

A thread about your involvement with Ken Lamberton has been started at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Ken Lamberton if you wish to respond. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 16:15, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Collectonian. I appreciate all the work, and I'm sorry about the shamless self-promotion and my ignorance of Wikipedia editing. I didn't mean to blatantly ignore this page or your instructions, but I guess it seems that way. I began this page because your list of John Burroughs medal winners led me to it. I started with basic biographical information I send to all my publishers, then I began trying to answer your concerns, building the page by using as examples other authors' pages like Richard Shelton, Alan Weisman, and Jimmy Santiago Baca (all friends of mine). I've never tried to hide my involvement, which is why I use this username. If you believe the page is inappropriate or not up to Wikipedia standards, feel free to delete it.

If not, I appreciate the additions from Marilyn Snell's piece from Sierra Magazine. She a great writer, but doesn't always get everything correct. For instance, I did my time at the Arizona State Prison--Tucson Complex, not the federal facility. Also, the 100+ essays and articles (including "The Wisdom of Toads" in the Best American Science and Nature Writing 2000 that you deleted) and my first book were published before my release in 2000. La Roca, and another prison magazine I edit today, Walking Rain Review, published only a few of my essays--most appeared in places like Bird Watcher's Digest, Puerto Del Sol, Green Mountains Review, Manoa, etc. You can find all of this on many websites, including my publishers' sites.

I hope this clears up things somewhat.

Thanks for answering and I appreciate your response (and your being clear that you are you in your username). If there are errors in the Snell piece, another sourced reference will be needed to use to correct it. One of the biggest things is that information should be well-sourced, preferable to third-party sites (having most things sourced to your site or publisher sites, for example, gives the appearance of non-neutrality). I do believe you meet notability requirements after finding more articles about you, so I don't plan to nominate it for deletion. I will continue to work on adding information from other sources, as I find them. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 21:20, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence! (I seem to be able to find this page only when you leave me a "message waiting"--still trying to work with your system, but it is enjoyable.) I see, third party sites.... You may have already found the recent book review by Scott Esposito in the Quarterly Conversation. Besides the Sierra Magazine profile, there are others in the Phoenix New Times, Arizona Republic, Dallas Morning News. You might also be interested in the NPR interviews with Steve Paulson "To the best of our knowledge" and Steve Curwood "Living on Earth." Let me know if I can help, although I'm inclined to leave this up to you at this point. Thanks again. Kenlamberton (talk) 00:28, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To get to this page any time, just click the "my talk" link at the very top of the page :) I have seen the Arizona article, but they want money for those, so I'll need to do requests through my university. If you know of anymore, feel free to posts the links to the article talk page. :) -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 00:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ken Lamberton at Amherst, MA bookstore reading 2007.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ken Lamberton at Amherst, MA bookstore reading 2007.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
