Speedy deletion nomination of Dairy King Plymouth, Michigan
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dairy King Plymouth, Michigan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:23, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 16:19, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- The article was flawed in four ways:
- The tone was overly promotional
- It failed to demonstrate the notability or significance of the company
- It cited sources that did not back up the claims (e.g., the history of the Dairy Queen national chain)
- It contained factual errors (e.g., the Dairy Queen chain existed prior to 1972)
- If you think the article should be re-created, I suggest finding independent reliable sources that demonstrate the notability of the restaurant. The article must demonstrate that the restaurant is significant beyond just the local area; you should indicate regional (multi-state) or national distinctions that the restaurant has won or otherwise show how it is significant at the (inter)national level. —C.Fred (talk) 16:23, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
