January 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited the article Julius Blum GmbH, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Julius Blum GmbH", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual.

You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Sionk (talk) 13:03, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sinok! The account 'Julius Blum GmbH' I used for the edit is a verified Wikipedia-account. As far as I know is this the only way for companies to edit Wikipedia articles regarding their own business. For further information here please contact Thomas Paninger User:Plani

This user has been verified as a part of the official PR-Team of Julius Blum GmbH by the german-language OTRS-Team (de.userpage). Best regards, Plani (talk) 10:59, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
'Official PR teams' shouldn't be editing articles about their own company, as far as I'm aware. It's a breach of the English Wikipedia 'Username policy' and 'Conflict of interest guidelines' (linked to above). The normal way to proceed would be to request any edits on the article's Talk page.
I notice a copy of the article has been moved to User:Julius Blum GmbH. To be honest, if you want to experiment with the article, you should use the Sandbox (link at the top of your page). All the best! Sionk (talk) 15:04, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Seems as if en.Wikipedia has this far other rules than de.Wiki does. Good to know. I would ask the person which is runnig this account to follow the guidlines Sionk just explained by requesting any edits on the articles Talk page. Best regards, Plani (talk) 09:29, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to request an edit on the Talk page of the article, you can also add {{request edit}}, which will add a template to attract someone to the page to look at your request. Sionk (talk) 16:59, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
