I just received a message from you and I have no clue what it is about? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.216.121.120 (talk) 22:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny Spasm here. I'm new to the whole Wikipedia thing. In fact, I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right. I've uploaded 2 images onto Wikipedia that keep getting removed because they potentially violate copyright laws. I assure you that they do not as I own both images myself. I also keep having the articles I wrote either deleted or removed entirely for the same reason. In both cases, I wrote part of the material myself, and part of it is NRLCA owned. And as an officer in the NRLCA and union representative, I have permission to rewrite that material —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnny Spasm (talkcontribs) 11:56, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Gashbell1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gashbell1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Re: Dhalsim and M. Bison...[edit]

Both characters have appeared in an anime/anime film made in Japan. Hence, my reason for doing that is so. The anime/manga categories are made for characters who have appeared in an anime, manga, or both. Is this understandable? ~I'm anonymous

I see what you mean. If their origin is from a video game then they're in the fictional character cats., regardless. By the way, I've been populating Category:Anime and manga characters who can teleport. Perhaps you can assist me? ~I'm anonymous
Heads up: I've gotten all the anime/manga characters I was able to find within Category:Fictional characters who can teleport. I'm done with that albeit is there someone in Zatch Bell! that can teleport? ~I'm anonymous
Hey, you never got back at responding to me. Are there any more characters in Zatch Bell! with super powers, such as teleporting or super strength/speed? From what I remember vaguely from the show was that they used magic and spells for whatever the reason; other than that, I couldn't find anything about powers and abilities for them. Could you help me out? ~I'm anonymous

Shun Goku Satsu, Evil Ryu[edit]

'In the Street Fighter Alpha series, there is a selectable version of Ryu called Evil Ryu known in Japan as Satsui no Hadou ni Mezameta Ryū. He was originally introduced in a Street Fighter Zero manga series authored by Masahiko Nakahira and later adapted in the Street Fighter canon by Capcom. He is the version of Ryu should he succumb to Satsui no Hadou, and depicts Ryu's struggle to resist the urge. Gameplay-wise, Evil Ryu has more powerful attacks than the original, strikes faster and possesses some of the attacks of Akuma (such as the Shun Goku Satsu). The only time Evil Ryu actually appears in Street Fighter canon is at the end of the first World Warrior tournament. According to the Street Fighter Alpha series, Sagat, the defending champion, crushed Ryu, and then extended his hand to help Ryu up after thinking that he had won. Ryu was so consumed with the desire to win that he gave into the Satsui no Hadou and executed a Metsu Shoryuken, scarring Sagat's chest and his pride.

Like Akuma, Evil Ryu has a signature symbol that appears when he performs the Shun Goku Satsu.

he is freakin canon so just let it go. admit your wrong.

Guilty Gear statistics[edit]

  • I'm a big fan of cleaning up character articles, but I'm curious why you removed the statistics stuff from these articles, as they're relatively easy to verify (even if they are cruft). However, I'm kind of hoping for a good reason because then I can remove the much debated cruft from the Street Fighter articles, too. ^_^ JuJube (talk) 09:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was all for the "theme songs" section in the infoboxes until it just got to the point where some characters (Sol Badguy for one) had like 8 songs associated with them and it was getting too cluttered. And blood type has always been rather trivial. So all that was left of any worth was birthplace. Now Template:Guilty Gear character is so feeble it should probably be replaced with something more generic. Over at the SF articles, I'd say that Birthplace and Fighting style are the only too in-game sections of the infobox that need to be kept.--SeizureDog (talk) 20:33, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD question: Recombinant text[edit]

I have very little experience in AfD matters, and am asking for your input before nominating an article for deletion, because, quite frankly, I do not want to be seen as someone who capriciously nominates articles which do not meet AfD standards.

If you have time, please take a look at this article. It was created by the person who—as the intro asserts—is the very person who coined the term. Most of the edits are by that person. Most, if not all, of the sources link back to this person. I mean, at best it appears to me to constitute OR, at worst, self-promotion. But maybe I'm seeing it wrong. What do you think?

I selected you and many other editors pretty much completely at random; I picked one day's AfD archives, and clicked on the talk pages of the first two or three dozen editors' talk pages I came across. I hope that in using this selection method, I will get editors who are well-versed in AfD policies, yet who also represent a good cross-section of AfD philosophies. I will monitor your talk page for your response. Thanks. Unschool (talk) 07:08, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Sailor Crystal into Sailor Senshi?[edit]

Hi JuJube, I just thought I'd drop you a note to say that as part of the "let's make this look more notable" reorganisation of Sailor Senshi, I've proposed that Sailor Crystal be merged into it, as the Sailor Crystal kind of makes a Sailor Senshi. I seem to remember that you were particularly proud of the Sailor Crystal article, so I thought I'd let you know directly. :) -Malkinann (talk) 03:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Lukes and Creovation[edit]

How did Creovation get even nominated for deletion let alone agreed for deletion? That's crazy! Check it: Google search ElectricRay (talk) 16:29, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

dude you clearly don't read the FT, do you? Just because you've never heard of it, if others see it as valuable (trust me - it's part of the lexicon of the city of London as a result of the FT), then why delete? Anyhow, just wanted to point that out. ElectricRay (talk) 18:32, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
jujube - fyi the demise of Martin Lukes today warranted an entire page of coverage in the print edition, an editorial in the print edition and a video Q&A on the FT site. CreovationTM (and IntegethicsTM) is prominently mentioned throughout. I think that's plenty notable enough to justify an article.ElectricRay (talk) 13:30, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving and partolling[edit]

Hi, JuJube. I see your name a lot on new page patrol and AfD, seems you are doing plenty of good work there. I'd like to ask you though, could you make sure you mark pages as patrolled before you move them. They are a proverbial bitch to mark patrolled after they have been turned into a redirect. Hey there!

Call me crazy but I have a feeling that the anonymous IP who removed the speedy tag twice will remove your tag again. I wouldn't be surprised if the subject of the article isn't the person doing that. Since nothing is stopping them from removing that speedy notice, maybe you should put up the article for an AFD debate. That way the nomination can't be deleted and I'm pretty certain it's going to end up being deleted. I fail to see any notability and I will definitely vote delete if I get the chance. Something to think about. Peace! SWik78 (talk) 14:03, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hello JuJube, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Acalamari 04:18, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. :) Yes, there is no confirmation screen with rollback: it just reverts the edit, which is why you have to be careful with rollback, but since you do a lot of vandal-fighting, rollback will be a big help to you. :) Good luck. Acalamari 19:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Why did you use rollback on the following edits?

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alexis_Rhodes&diff=prev&oldid=185806599

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Adrian_Gecko&diff=prev&oldid=185806581

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chumley_Huffington&diff=prev&oldid=185806499

Remember that rollback is for vandalism-reversion only, not to revert good-faith edits, or legitimate PROD or AfD templates. Acalamari 19:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate a response to this. Thanks. Acalamari 21:27, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Thank you for the response. I wasn't about to remove your rollback rights over one event: I just wanted an explanation. You made a mistake, and you realize that. No harm done then. Thanks. Acalamari 23:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Muzza[edit]

I found some stuff on the page for the Muzza Canal, in Italy, which I've deleted now.
You admonished the author on 22 Sept 2006 for re-creating deleted articles, but there’s also a link there to an existing article that post-dates it.
I was curious; can you shed any light on this? Do you know why was it deleted in the first place? (The current article seems OK’ish).

Thanks...[edit]

Thanks for the note on my talk page - it is appreciated. That article has been the source of no end of displeasure for me over the past few months. I've no particular interest in the subject, but ended up there because of an editor (User:EverybodyHatesChris) who was evading an indefinite block with a series of sockpuppets. Sadly, I suspect that this string of rapidly changing IPs is the same editor, based on the editing patterns, the abusive language directed towards me, and the way he responded to your comment. Please let me know if you have any problems with him, as he has a tendency to stalk people who "offend" him. (I've been attacked through a false "Ckatz" page on Yahoo... and he really cut loose in a similar fashion against an editor on Wiktionary who cleaned up his vandalism of my page there.) Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 23:50, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Judge Judy[edit]

The page blankings do not appear to be vandalism at all, rather this is a content dispute, and while the IP address repeatedly attempts to explain the reasoning behind their edits, you are using the rollback function to revert what appears to be a good faith edit. The article has been fully protected. Please take it to the talk page and hammer out a consensus with the IP user in question. I will be asking them to do the same --Jayron32.talk.contribs 17:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you could provide evidence as such, I would consider blocking the IP addresses in question and removing article protection. There is nothing in the edits themselves that shows obvious bad faith in themselves, but if you have proof that this is a blocked user evading their block, please provide difs so that I may act appropriately. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 17:39, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I'm not having a go at you, it's not a problem if you want to vote Keep; it's just a problem if your vote seems to indicate that the ArbCom injunction suggests that others should do so too. I think this is the problematic point - I have reworded the FICTWARN template so that it is clearer too. Hope this helps, Black Kite 20:10, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Controversy[edit]

How in the hell was the removal of the decidedly uncontroversial and pointless "Most Commonly-Used Types of Card Formations" (which just explains that people have different tastes in deck strategies and is in no way a controversy in the game) with an explanation of the split between OCG and TCG and Konami's recent and very well known AND controversial attempts to steer the game towards a beatdown/destruction only meta, and their practice of creating then dropping new, and ignoring old deck types, biased? Have you even played the game, or talked with any actual duelists? It's not biased, it's fact, and as a duelist, I'm insulted that you think that the fact that "this duelist likes the Crystal Beasts, while this other one likes Volcanic Burn" is more of a legitimate "controversy" in the game than the OCG vs. TCG fan (and now distributor) war, and Konami's practices with new decktypes and the ban list. 66.233.188.231 (talk) 20:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It may have been "neutral", but it is not controversial in the least, and it has the same amount of "research" as you claim my articles had. Again, what the hell is so controversial about one duelist liking one deck, and someone else liking another? Aside from the flame wars I keep on encountering whenever someone mentions the Elemental Heroes in a YGO forum, I see absolutely no arguments or controversy over the fact that different people like dueling with different decks, at all.

Also, how in the hell did my articles "smack of bias"? The OCG vs. TCG war has been known and debated for years by fans of the game, and UDE themselves have admitted that the recent changes they made to the TCG was to distance it from the OCG. And again, anyone with eyes that plays the game can see what Konami is doing to the game, recently, and there has been MANY complaints from the fans about it. I'm sorry, but I don't see how my articles are "original research" or "biased", especially when I wrote them to be as UNbiased as possible. 66.233.188.231 (talk) 21:03, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason given is: It is an article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject. (CSD A7)". You are not an admin. Your knowledge of CSD A7 as evidenced in your edit is not good. Regarding your FightersGeneration point[edit]

The issue with Frankie (the site's webmaster) seems mainly to lie on the fact he steals rips from other people without their consent, and the biography info on his site is pulled out of his butt half the time. Despite that though listing the actual sources of artwork vs his site might prove to cause a few complications. Awhile back I was trying to put up some artwork for Rock Volnutt in the page's character box. User:A Man In Black stepped in and gave grief, and then when the artwork was cited as being from a capcom artbook, proceeded to claim that fair use was invalid, and you can guess the rest. So as lousy as the site is, sticking with it as the source might prove the least mess.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 00:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Danny Daniel is banned, but SSP is where one would go to determine whether or not User:DardGarnd is the same person. It doesn't seem all that obvious to me. Regardless, he wasn't editing when he was added to AIV, so that isn't where the report belongs. Evil saltine (talk) 22:51, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It happens; dumb stuff in large quantities from random strangers accounts for the vast majority of edits to Sailor Moon articles, and that gets old faaaast. Admin locating[edit]

I've got a bit of a...dilemma...with an an article I'm working on regarding what sources I can cite for notability: I've got people arguing against sites like Kotaku, Joystiq, Boing Boing Gadgets, and InsertCredit being valid references despite the sites having established rapport with commercial companies and even interviews with head guys (especially joystiq. Hell they interviewed Mario's creator x.x') Anyway the argument is they don't count because "they're blogs."

So I stop bugging you with this long winded post, given you have more familiarity with who's who here, could you point me at any reasonable wp admin I can make my case regarding these references with that you know of? It's really my last resort.

P.S. Get well soon.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:12, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FF7 Fam Article Redux[edit]

Something is honestly stinking to high heaven here and I don't know the proper way to approach dealing with it. 85.17.237.211 *seems* to be ringleading sock puppet IPs over there, because the responses after his keep coming from single purpose IPs, or those that'd been involved in vandalism before. And one account, User:Foxit22, ended up fire-and-forget. Though the irony in the name is pretty present too: "fox it".

Additionally the guy that even started the AFD seems to have been an account in a similar boat: he targetted it, the category, the screenshots, and Kart Fighter all for AFD nomination in one fell swoop. Additionally the history of the FF7 Famicom page will show that, at the time, he vandalized the article before posting the AFD, making a mess of the reference tags.

I don't know fully what's going on here, but I do know someone is really damn determined to nix that article and they're not playing by the rulebook. Any advice on who to talk to?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:53, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Banditkeith.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Banditkeith.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wisdom89 (T / C) 19:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Banditkeith.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wisdom89 (T / C) 19:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No big deal, I just don't like biting the newbies, but sometimes I think people should do a little reading on the technical process before they jump in to article creation. I also feel bad that you see a lot of users making vanity or tribute articles that could just as easily exist in their own namespace as a part of a userpage if they really feel the need. Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Keith Howard. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Stifle (talk) 11:43, 26 March 2008 (UTC) Never mind, it was nonsense vandalism. Stifle (talk) 11:45, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Someone has added information on "Future Cops" without formatting it properly. Since it's not an official movie, and China is notorious for this kind of bootleg stuff, it should probably be removed. JuJube (talk) 04:27, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The user posted this on my talk page but I have removed it. If it is an unofficial live-action movie there would be an article on it, like there is for the unofficial Dragon Ball live-action. The user is probably advertising some illegal foreign movie. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I put proper links to IMDB on all the pages, which is a reference. It is not a "Bootleg". You may not know the film Future Cops, but it actually is a big movie in China, directed by Jing Wong who directed many Jacky Chan movies, and stars and All-Star cast of some of the most famous Chinese actors including Andy Lau, Simon Yam, Aaron Kwok, and Jacky Cheung. Perhaps you should research a film before you decide it is unofficial, or not a real film. I am requesting that all the edits for Future cops be put back, and if they need touch ups, feel free to do so or let me know what would make the info better. TheWrench (talk) 05:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then do like JuJube told you on your talk page, create the article. Then we'll see if it passes WP:NN criteria. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 05:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Future Cops[edit]

I am changing info of Future Cops on Street Fighter Characters back. There are similar mentions of characters appearing outside of Capcom official films and products, and if you are going to remove valid information about one, you will need to remove them all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheWrench (talkcontribs) 14:47, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Future Cops Likeness[edit]

The likenesses of the characters appear in the film, and there are mentions of likeness or name appearances in many of the street fighter character bios. It is valid info, though the names are changed, they ARE the characters. You can check the Chun Li, Ryu, E Honda, Zangief, Fei Long, Hugo, and possibly others. If your opinion is that Future Cops, though obviously street fighter, can not be mentioned due to being non Capcom, then you can not mention who the characters are "possibly" based on, other films or games non-canon that their likeness or name may have appeared in, or any other non-directly street fighter mention on any character's wiki bio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheWrench (talkcontribs) 15:00, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was wondering what was going on, since you reverted the article to its state before January 5, 2007. How does that happen? Anyway... the templates weren't meant to be insulting to your work as a whole and were meant to object to that particular edit only. In my understanding, the divertion of FLIGHT INSPECTION to FLIGHT TEST is a mistake.

If you read carefully, all FLIGHT TEST explanations are talking about special flights where aircratf parameters or design are tested, so plains are the objects under test, whereas FLIGHT INSPECTION is a different world (believe me), and part of it are flights where the object under test are the radio navigation aids.

This is the reason why I respectfully ask you for reconsidering this change, leaving FLIGHT INSPECTION page in a separate and independent entry, the way it was designed.

As you can easily verify, I'm just a rooky in WP, it's my first contribution, and I don't know how to do this yet.

You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. First of all. Are you sure yourself Tiamat's FAQ is accurate all the times? You cite it like a Pope who thinks the Bible is the infallible word of God. Do you have all the guides he cites and know Japanese yourself? I've read Tiamat's FAQ myself and it seems to be very poorly sourced in my opinion as much as much I hate to say it. The statement you've sent to me from his FAQ ("Capcom has officially stated that Street Fighter Zero 2 and Zero 3 is the current bridge between SF1 and 2") doesn't state his specific source. When did Capcom ever published such a statement? Was it in All About Capcom Fighting Games? Or in one of the many Street Fighter Zero mooks? From what I gather from most Japanese Street Fighter fansites (like Red Cyclone), they seem to state that Zero 1 and Zero 2 are simply different versions of the same events, just like how 2nd Impact is an expansion of the original SF3 and Super SF2 is an expansion of the original SF2.

Secondly, Tiamat seems to take a lot of things from the games at face value. For example, he states in the Cody section that Cody never fought Rolento and skipped to the Bayside Area in Final Fight. He seems to have gotten this idea from a line in Alpha Cody's dialogue with Rolento in Final Fight One (the GBA port). That may seem to be the case when the line is taken at face value, but if you look it at another way, it's simply the writers poking fun at the old SNES port, which didn't have that level.

And finally, Wikipedia isn't a fansite to post biographies of fictional characters, regardless of whether they're canon or not. The site is supposed to look at the development of fictional characters from the non-fictional perspective and that includes mentioning any retcons and overrides made by the writers no matter what. You don't see the Superman article concentrating only on the Modern Age version of the character. I suggest to read WP:WAF to know how articles about fictional elements should handled.

My suggestion is to ditch the whole "Fictional character biography" and simply focus on the character 's development from Street Fighter II to Alpha and 'IV and cover his other appearances separately. Jonny2x4 (talk) 03:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All good things[edit]

Nice to see Jonny2x4's demeanor is still somewhat for the birds from the above text. Sadly what he's saying up there seems to represent in part what the current trend is leaning towards. You saw the Alex redirect, cleaned up the directory template and redirected the slam masters solo articles to the parent game. I think at this point the only thing that'll keep the rest up is watching them, trying to improve them and it would seem even replace Tiamat's guide as needed. We can still cite the books overall anyway.

I'm really just disliking where this is all heading. People are putting too much emphasis on third-party notability and using sites like IGN as some sort of litmus test if an article should exist. Might as well tell people "It must be mentioned this much by bigwigs to pass" when they make an article: it'd save headaches later @[email protected]Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:52, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Stop adding "fictional capoiera practitioners", that's utterly unsubstantiated. JuJube (talk) 21:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The same goes for most of the section. The 'References' simply re-direct to Wikipedia's page on Viz Media (being the distributer of DN 13). Most of it comes from How to Read, and no source other. If that's to be allowed, then why not this fact?
If you'll look over DN 13, you'll see that it clearly states that he's a master of the Brazilian martial art of Capoiera. It was even alluded to that he learned the concept from Naomi Misora in Another Note when she told him of the style's benifit.
To the point, he is a practitioner of capoiera and a master at that. WickedKnightAlbel (talk) 09:05, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Try not use edit summaries like the one you used there. This is more humorous vandalism than anything else and while the warning is appropriate insulting vandals is more likely than anything else to make them continue vandalizing. JoshuaZ (talk) 03:13, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have tried very hard to get the TAS fans to realize that the Wikipedia thing was a joke and that they shouldn't pursue doing it seriously. For my trouble, I was told that it's good that people are still trying to "ruin" Wikipedia and that I should remove the stump from my ass. I hope you can forgive me for being supremely annoyed with them. JuJube (talk) 03:16, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, Mr. Zelinsky, this has gone on for MONTHS. We were innundated with "in America!" for months before "Steve" and "Canada" came about. It's getting a bit tiring by now, the humor beaten out ever since Marik's second council convened. hbdragon88 (talk) 23:59, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

could you please do me a favor?[edit]

Hello,

I am a master student at the Institute of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Currently I am wrapping up my master thesis titled “Can Wikipedia be used for knowledge service?” In order to validate the knowledge evolution maps of identified users in Wikipedia, I need your help. I have generated a knowledge evolution map to denote your knowledge activities in Wikipedia according to your inputs including the creation and modification of contents in Wikipedia, and I need you to validate whether the generated knowledge evolution map matches the knowledge that you perceive you own it. Could you please do me a favor?

  1. I will send you a URL link to a webpage on which your knowledge evolution map displays. Please assign the topic (concept) in the map to a certain cluster on the map according to the relationship between the topic and clusters in your cognition, or you can assign it to ‘none of above’ if there is no suitable cluster.
  2. I will also send a questionnaire to you. The questions are related to my research topic, and I need your viewpoints about these questions.

The deadline of my thesis defense is set by the end of June, 2008. There is no much time left for me to wrap up the thesis. If you can help me, please reply this message. I will send you the URL link of the first part once I receive your response. The completion of my thesis heavily relies much on your generous help.

Sincerely

Keep an eye out[edit]

I just killed Yu-gi-oh the Abridged Series, which was started a day ago on 24 June. I killed it 25 hours after it was done, but only because i was tipped off over at Talk:Keith Howard. If it's not too much trouble, could you bookmark a Google search for YGO:TAS and alert me when the crap keeps coming up? Thanks. hbdragon88 (talk) 06:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy keeps and Daffy Duck episodes[edit]

Hello, speedy keep does not apply. Could you please provide a rationale that addresses the concerns of notability and verifiability? Cheers, Dlohcierekim 02:33, 4 July 2008 (UTC) Ack! Just looking for the strongest reasons I can get. LOL Cheers, Dlohcierekim 02:38, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page was unexpectedly moved to this title. Wasn't there consensus on using Ken (Street Fighter)? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 03:12, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a new essay with the shortcut WP:DISCUSSCRUFT. This is an essay that is supposed to explain the word "cruft" in neutral terms and promote intelligent discussion about the cruft problem on wikipedia. I know there are already many essays about cruft on wikipedia. But I hope you might be able to give it a read. Perhaps it can be copy-edited or improved in some way. I hope you find it useful. Thank you! Problemchildlsd (talk) 21:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That would indeed be me. But forgive me, I do not know enough about Wikipedia to get your email address off it. Mine is j2ehyp at google's email service, if you are so inclined. :) KiTA (talk) 12:30, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Street Fighter[edit]

Sorry about that, there's been a great deal of rumbling at the video game wikiproject that started with the Sonic articles and kinda spread into here, thankfully to a much lesser degree. So to stave things off a little merged the characters I couldn't find enough for notability on and just focus on the remaining Final Fight character articles for the most part.

I really dislike how notability's tossed around here I must say. It biases things too much in favor of primary characters because of a reliability on reception, which for lesser characters often tends to not exist even if they have plenty of third party coverage. :\

That and I'm still waiting for someone to bother with Poison's GA review, knowing it'll probably land up some left field overlooked reason why it can't pass. Either way, sorry again.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:12, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Work yes, but not like it's currently being done. There's too much of a "burn the witch!" attitude going around, and too many people acting like editors sticking with "cruft", when they were treated for years like it was acceptable, are some cancer that must be carved out with intense profanity and whatnot. It's...pretty stupid.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:14, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yo JuJube!

While I will not debate that the youngin' was being more than a little impetuous and such, I think calling him "pathetic" was a little over the line. Its only my two bits of unsolicited advice, but I would think about redacting that comment, because I could see a few editors thinking that your comment violates civility policy. Have a great day, and I do hope you are feeling better! LonelyBeacon (talk) 05:19, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peace JuJube! I am not sure if I am doing this right.. but recently I saw that my page is being deleted or in the process of being deleted. I saw this listed

Delete vain vanity in vain. JuJube (talk) 23:47, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

on the following page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/RAVAGE_%28rapper%29

Originally, i saw a page, someone made with a tiny bit of information about me on it, so to keep it accurate, I upgraded the entire page. But I am not sure what's going on, truthfully. Can you explain? maybe email me here [email protected] ? I made an attempt to wikify the article with relevant links but am not sure what to do.

Thank you for your time. peace Ravagenrumble (talk) 12:35, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I try an remove them if I see them. I know the connections are often obvious, but they do still need a source, because they could still be challenged. Gran2 11:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary[edit]

Why not? --Masamage 04:26, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her website didn't say it, but there could be any number of reasons for that--that site was a resume, so it would make sense for it to list only the things she wanted to be known for. I don't think we have any evidence that she didn't play that role. Your points about IMDB are good, but I don't know. Is there a guideline or anything about it? Because it seems weird for us to just pick and choose; it'd be nice if there was a systematic way to go about judging it. -Masamage 20:32, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Liu Kang[edit]

I know Liu Kang came before Fei Long and I originally put him with Kim Dragon from World Heroes as one of the first Bruce Lee inspired characters as Mortal Kombat like World Heroes was made in 1992, but you removed that as well. So I put him with the others thinking I had made a mistake because you removed him. It's not my fault you got your facts wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.192.19 (talk) 15:12, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Smashing Pumpkins[edit]

A song appearing in a trailer is not notable, especially since it's not that difficult to get permission to put one in there. Think of all the times you've heard the Rolling Stones in a movie trailer. WesleyDodds (talk) 22:05, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
