Scout Groups in London

[edit]

I see you have edited one of the London Scout County articles. Do you know which County the 9th Wimbledon is in? As you see, it has its own article - perhaps the only article on a Scout Group because its size makes it notable. I'd like to link it to the county it is in. --Bduke 12:33, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greater London South West, is its county. The District has a website GLSW this looks really useful, also use Scoutbase email and WWW directory. I will also have a go later at adding details to the county's article. Jt spratt 12:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. If you start the article for that County, I'll see what I can do to help. --Bduke 13:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another UK Scout

[edit]

Hiya, I just saw you added to the list of Scouting project participants, and was pleasantly surprised by discovering that I was not the only UK Scout be involved. What's your main interest? I've been hitting the World Scout Jamborees most recently, but I see the need to expand on the various counties and other UK articles, too. Want to work out a plan together? Horus Kol 08:24, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Horus Kol, I have been editing scouting articles for a while and have just decied to join the project. I am an SL in the Haringey district of GLN. I have recently added the UK Cub section, as well as starting the Beavers and started a lot of the counties over the last few days. I would really like to work kwith you to expand UK Scouting on wikipedia. Jt spratt 16:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comment - there could be an argument for fellowship/adult leader sections to be added to the template... I could probably extend the box a little. Horus Kol 13:40, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You may or may not be aware that I've put the article in for Peer Review - I could do with someone knowledgeable of UK Scouting giving it a lookover for where we can improve the article... any help you can give would be much appreciated. Horus Kol 11:02, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:12, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
