Updating player stats

I've noticed that you keep updating player appearances on 2013–14 Real Sociedad season (previous appearances+appearences this season). I don't think it makes much sense: We could either post the numer of appearances when the squad was formed (before the season started) and leave it like that or show the number of appearances this season (like this).
