Editing American Champion wikipage[edit]

I noted your 20 Feb. edit of the aircraft manufacturer American Champion - you placed the List of Aircraft into a wikibox. While I commend you for the effort, I was disappointed to see that you squished my previous breakout (of the various derivatives) into 4 categories. I spent considerable time getting them broken out, and feel that it is desirable to have such a breakout. Any chance you would reconsider your action? Thanks in advance.Raymondwinn (talk) 13:28, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looking here in the history, and at the article page, you moved it from Arromanches (R95) (without a space) to Arromanches (R 95) with a space between the "R" and the "95". Why did this happen, just curious for that though. Dreamafter (talk) 00:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joshbaumgartner, the above template seems a bit unnecessary to me as it is used in only one category (Category:Age of Sail merchant ships of the United Provinces), and in that case is slightly wrong anyway as it points to United Provinces which is a disambiguation page. The 2nd issue is easily fixable, but in general do you see a case for the retention of the template? Moondyne 06:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Provinces of Indonesia[edit]

More white space than any article deserves and two maps is totally unecessary - please note that one will have to go SatuSuro 09:18, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The new map with numbers appear to have no correlation with the real world of Indonesian acronyms and numbers for everything - hence the usefulness maybe apparent to you with the list - but unless it can be proved that the number comes with a correlation to ISO or other Internal Indonesian coding I see no use for anyone for it in that form SatuSuro 09:55, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hell I didnt meant to disparage the hard work you had done - I was wondering if there was some way to marry the info - my sincerest apologies for what was obviously a lot of hard work - I dont agree that we put the named variety at the top - I was just wondering when i first noticed it if there was a way to remove the lower map and somehow have the names and numbers on your added map! SatuSuro 10:16, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The probem is that with the relatively low literacy/high reliance on acronyms and even numbers in what i perceive as indonesian culture (i could be very wrong) I was wondering if there was some way to work on the map and numbering that you had worked on in some way tied in somehow to the readily known acronyms? or would the format be too tight SatuSuro 10:19, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No biggie. The important work I think is adding the data, and that is still there. As for the numbered map, the numbers were only for reference from the table. If you can think of a better way to incorporate it, feel free. I think for Indonesia, having only the 33 provinces, the named map works okay. The numbered map was easy to make in Inkscape, so don't worry about that. Now you may have an idea by using the ISO code or something like that. The idea with numbers was that one can find a piece of information in the table, and then quickly locate the province on the map. Josh (talk) 10:27, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well it is for me a biggie as we never have enough helpers in the Indonesia project and the constant issue is to weigh up the local usage of information against outside info - as found in some wonderful article title names which would ever mean anything to outsiders - So In a way the numbered map is in some way very sueful - have you ever done sequenced maps that we have in the australian project sequence of the development of the states? it would be brilliant if we could tweak/toggle between two maps on the same location SatuSuro 10:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

your moving of List of artillery[edit]

Are you aware of how many links you have broken by moving List of artillery to List of artillery by type and using List of artillery for your own purposes ? Was this discussed and agreed to by others first ? A far more appropriate approach is to either change all the links first, or to use some other name for your list. You certainly shouldn't just wipe out page names and their contents just because you have some esoteric disgreement over the precise definition of a term. Rod.
