Book Deletion[edit]

{{helpme}} Today Yworo have removed all my submissions to "Fedora", "Ubuntu" and "PostgreSQL" wiki pages as a "commercial links" (See Ubuntu - on 04:12, 25 August 2009; Fedora - on 04:12, 25 August 2009; PostgreSQL 03:30, 25 August 2009 ).

I'd like to have community answers on the next my questions, comments and concerns about my submission deletion:

1. It was only info about REAL BOOKS, with the real ISBNs, from the real US publisher, sell on Amazon, BN, ...
2. Almost each section in Wikipedia have the appropriate "Books" or "Bibliography" section with the links to a real books, which are absolutely similar Fultus books.
3. For example, what's the difference between links to O'Reily, Sams, Apress books (exists) and Fultus books (removed by you) on the PostgeSQL wiki page in "Books" section.
4. Why links to Fultus books describe UP-TO-DATE Fedora, Ubuntu and PostgreSQL systems are "commercial links", BUT links to O'Reily, Sams, Apress books describes outdated systems aren't commercial links?

It looks like publisher discrimination and it's a really strange!

I think you should not remove this submissions, because this is a really useful for all Linux community.

Therefore, like any other edit, you should begin a discussion about your proposed edit on the talk page of the articles themselves, and try to get the opinion of other editors, with the idea of reaching a consensus as to whether the additions are truly useful to the article. See WP:DISPUTE for some guidance on it. You might also wish to review the external linking policy. For more help, you can either;

It's primarily the links to the Fultus website that's the problem. We don't link book titles to the publisher website, especially if the books are available for sale on the website. Including the ISBN of the book is sufficient, as that allows the user to find the book in a wide variety of libraries and online bookstores rather than promoting purchase from a particular website. Oh, and normally we don't add books unless they have been used as references for the article. Adding books without adding material cited to them is a big red flag to many Wikipedia editors. When there is also a clear intent to promote unnecessary commercial links, the addition will simply be reverted. There are hundreds of books on any given topic and we can't list all of them. Wikipedia is not a collection of lists of resources, whether they be books or websites. It's an encyclopedia and references are listed to verify the information in the article via footnotes. What should I do to restore my submission? Link to Amazon? BN? Google Book Search? ... instead of Fultus, contains all this links in one place and opportunity to search throughout all contents for appropriate book collection.

No links are needed at all. When you add the ISBN, it automatically creates a link. Click on that link and you will see all the resources you can select, which include all the links you mentioned. The usual heading for book not used as references is "Further reading". It normally is placed right before the External links section which should always be last.
