Notability

[edit]

I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but Wikipedia is not the place for articles about things like the Republic/Kingdom of Catan. For a summary of the reasons, see Wikipedia is not for things made up one day.

Wikipedia's test for inclusion is called Wikipedia:Notability and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Facebook, Twitter, blogs, places where anyone can post anything (like the Micronations Wiki); independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also WP:Notability (summary)

There is some latitude for user sub-pages and sandboxes, but they are not for pages that look like articles but have no hope of becoming encyclopedic. Sorry, but the Micronations Wiki is the place for this kind of thing, not Wikipedia. JohnCD (talk) 08:54, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
