A tag has been placed on East London RFC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The standard you'll have to meet for the article to survive in the long run is WP:ORG. Mere claims of importance or significance may be enough to avoid speedy deletion, but the article will still have to meet WP:ORG in order to avoid a higher level deletion discussion under WP:PROD or, more likely, WP:AFD. When you read WP:ORG, don't overlook the links which define what "reliable" means. Let me add a word of friendly advice: Though it may not look like it on first blush, there are strict policies on what subjects and content can and cannot be included in Wikipedia. Without a working knowledge of Wikipedia policy it can be very frustrating to try to write an article that won't be deleted. I've tried several times to write a better introduction to editing than can be found at the Article Wizard and Your First Article and I can't. Don't be tempted to skip past sections of either one, they're full of solid gold information. Also, if you've not done so already, you need to read the Notability, Verifiability, No original research, What Wikipedia is not, and Conflict of interest policies from beginning to end. If after you read WP:ORG, you think that you can still create an article which will survive, you might want to consider userfying or incubating the article and taking it out of article mainspace while you work on it so that you're not continuously fighting deletion battles. Oh, one more thing, since you now have a valid username, please sign in before working. If you work part of the time with your user name and part of the time from just your IP address you may be accused of sockpuppetry and that could cause both your new username and your IP address to be blocked.
