Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:

- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, article improvement contests, and other tasks.

You did fine, thats what the page is for, so everything worked out alright. FYI: upgrades or downgrades in assessment can be assigned by anyone provided they do not list an article as GA, A, or FA class (those are assessed through reviews, not by individuals). A problem with recently passed A-class article
A major rewrite (up to and include a renaming) has significantly changed the Kiev Expedition (1018) article, which you recently supported for A-class. I've commented on talk, but so far we have a revert war in mainspace and comments would be much appreciated. I belive the rewrite has a potential to significantly improve the article, but currently the article has destabilized. Can you urgently help Milhist please?
We've had a rather large bombshell dropped on us. The Wikipedia editorial team are aiming to release a version of Wikipedia on CD/DVD in time for the end of year holiday season. They've provided us with a list of 1333 Milhist articles they intend including.
The problem is that the quality of these articles varies considerably.
We've put together a review page listing all the articles, in twenty-five article worklists. I'm hoping that 15-20 trusted editors can work through the list, weedying out problem articles and identifying suitable versions for release. The work is as far away from a tagging and assessing drive as you can imagine though, for convenience and ease of use, we've closely followed the traditional Milhist drive format.
This is, at the moment, an invitation-only review. The reason is that time is short and we can't afford too many mistakes. I'm only contacting experienced editors who performed very well indeed in the last two Milhist drives. I guess that working through a worklist of twenty-five articles will take between one and three hours to do. We're aiming to get the preliminary work done by next Sunday, so it's urgent too.

Milhist W0.7: update
Thank you very much for your help in our review of the W0.7-nominated articles, which has proved to be a very worthwhile exercise. As the number of sub-standard articles found was much higher than anticipated, the coordinators are currently considering how best to follow this up, given the project's limited resources and the short time span – under three weeks - for making improvements. The review has been a very worthwhile exercise and will lead to a major quality improvement initiative in the very near future. In the meantime, if you found any articles that you feel you could easily fix, I'd be very grateful if you invested a little time doing so. Please also feel free to nominate any articles for inclusion which you feel were overlooked. I have replied to your query on the name in the article talk.
Truly, I am not ordinarily a naturally conflict-oriented person, and I would like to offer my assistance to your editing of the article. I had cooperated with another editor successfully before to produce articles that covered the Operation Bagration and several others. I do go to some length to verify my sources, including keeping in contact with David Glantz, and contacting individuals in the former Soviet Union for information in the case of the Eastern Front. I am pedantic about detail, and citing sources.
I withdrew from the Military History Project because I do not see the participants as being able to administer the project as a project, reach decisions, or follow policies of Wikipedia as they concern the articles in the scope of the Project. This does not greatly hinder me in contributing except where voting is introduced to shove something down my throat which is not supported by authoritative sources.
I do refuse to become a part of the Wiki Sphere by having my behaviour modified to something approaching pastel colours. I have a strong personality that helps me to achieve results. Those I have worked with in real life have always appreciated this feature of it, and my willingness to speak my mind regardless of hurt feelings (mine or those of others). I do not place my ego above my rational faculties.

- Hi Joe. The map is in the public domain in Russia, but Wikipedia enforcement of copyright make use of any images difficult. I can translate it, and we can work through it together because remember, it is a general map created in the Soviet era, so one needs to treat it as a general guide. Same by the way applies to many post war German maps that have been drawn to reflect "best version" of what happened. What I wanted to do is to learn how to colourise maps and edit the text bits, and if I can do that, I can claim copyright so can use them because unfortunately current maps used in articles are quite poor.

Citations in Dnepro-Carpathian Strategic Offensive (aka Battle of West Ukraine)
I noticed that you have combined both Krivosheev citations into one. There is a small issue with that, as the citations were to different parts of that work (a section dealing with strategic operations and a section dealing with weaponry losses). IMHO, this is not crucial, but perhaps you didn't realize that and thus now may want to reconsider. With respect, Ko Soi IX (talk) 01:56, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
My primary concern was fixing the redirects so the dashes was really just an afterthought. That said, I didn't think it was fixed anywhere, though I may well be wrong. All the dashes separating the names, with all the dashes in the names as well, just looks awful. Perhaps spaced endashes instead of unspaced emdashes? --ROGER DAVIES talk 21:07, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- All right, I see that. Also, now that I think about it, some of the offensives have multiple constituent battles which have separate articles (for example, current tenth one on Budapest is really Budapest and Belgrade, so the points look better and make it easier to distinguish between the ten offensives, so I suppose I'll leave it for now unless someone else complains. Maryland and Virginia Rifle Regiment
Thanks for your "blessing" of the article. I may now shoot for Featured Article status. Could you recommend what I may need (if anything) to improve it for the FA review. One editor suggested adding a bit of explanatory prose (i.e., "color" background) here and there on some topics -- to keep the average reader engaged. An example could be a short blurb on the tactical role of riflemen in the Rev. War relative to that of the musketmen.
