About double redirects

[edit]

Yep they is all good. All you need to do now is delete the section. If you look on the Wikipedia talk:Computer help desk/cleanup/double redirects/20050713 page there are some comments about the red/mangled links. What I've been doing this morning is looking to see if I can find them. If you look at section 24 the red link "isidor Feinstein Stone" should be fairly easy to find. However, the one in section 25 looks as if it would be almost impossible to find. When I get one like that I just delete it as well. I thing I found helps a bit is to not include the first (and sometimes) and second letter next to the garbage characters as they may be corrupt too. Hope that helps. Cheers. It's all pretty easy until you hit a triple redirect or a circular redirect. They are hard to deal with especially the circular as it can be hard to find the proper article to redirect to. CambridgeBayWeather 16:00, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

McDonald's article

[edit]

Hi, Would you mind taking a look at McDonald's? For some reason, I can't revert the vandalism on that page. It works fine on preview, but after saving, it's back to what it was (a text saying: YO GUYS BRING BACK THE MCRIB PLZ!!!). Or am I completely missing something? --JoanneB 16:14, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can see on the history some vandalism was reverted more than one hour before you posted the above message on my talk page. The most probable explanation is a caching problem; you should try to clear your cache when that happens. And yeah, Wikipedia has been really slow lately, which explains your double post (hint: when you get an error message when saving a change, check your user contributions to see if it went through or not, before retrying). Because of that slowness, I couldn't check if the vandalism is the one you reported. --cesarb 16:33, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcomes

[edit]

Absolutely fine by me, they are here, if needs be I tailor them as appropriate, particulary if they've got a user page, I just remove the ref. Alf melmac 22:34, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Caveat; four tildes as signature - you must cut and paste the raw message, then add your tildes to sign on each occasion. That is why mine is blank there! Proost : ) Alf melmac 22:59, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Exceptional Newcomer Award

.

You've had an account for what, two weeks? In that time you've been reverting vandalism, leaving vandals appropriate messages, spotting and actioning copyvio, unearthing and actioning a hoax, oh, the list goes on... I'm happy to say!

I think this all this fine work calls for recognition, so I'm awarding you The Exceptional Newcomer Award. This award is for newcomers who display exceptional enthusiasm, skill, and boldness beyond their experience. Well, that's you alright! Long may you continue. Because butterflies aren't enough

Joanne, you seem to be popping up everywhere - tiding up and dealing firmly but patiently with every manner of pest. A few more weeks and we'll need to get you a proper mop. --Doc (?) 10:35, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I, Doc (?) hereby give you this WikiMedal for Janitorial Services for your prolific article tiding and vandal bashing, . --Doc (?) 10:35, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
