Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:19, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please try to stay within the top three tiers of this hierarchy.

Information icon Hello, I'm 220 of Borg. I noticed that you made a comment on the page User talk:Renzoy16 that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 220 of Borg 15:06, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

The full report of this case is at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Jiltsedge reported by User:Renzoy16 (Result: 48 hours). If you have been using IPs as well as a registered account you should be aware of the WP:SOCK policy. Personal attacks against other editors don't improve anyone's credibility. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 17:29, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful name-calling[edit]

Be careful when accusing someone who has been a regular editor for years of editing on behalf of another person or company.

Everyone should assume good faith, editors who have been contributing regularly for awhile without getting into trouble have earned additional credibility. Any accusation of wrongdoing must get past the presumption that an established editor who hasn't gotten himself into trouble lately knows the rules, has been following them, and intends to keep following them.

Yes, we have had a few long-time Wikipedia editors either "cross over to the dark side" (to borrow a Star Wars reference) and we have uncovered a few "dark side" Wikipedia editors do a very good job of disguising their true motives for years before being caught, but such editors are rare. The first rarely happens, and those who try the second path will either typically slip up early on and get caught, get frustrated at the effort required to hide and just give up on Wikipedia altogether, or have a change of heart and "come over to the light side" and become useful, productive editors.

By the way, I have neither the interest nor the technical tools to investigate the person you mentioned in this edit. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:18, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
