Hmmm. Yes I agree that Muslim is a good compromise, it worked out well on the al-Khwarizmi page, with the exception of one guy who claims he wasn't Muslim or Islamic. (????) Some users never fail to amaze me. Why did you block me? According to Wikipedia:Three-revert rule: The policy states that an editor must not perform more than three reversions, in whole or in part, on a single Wikipedia article within a 24 hour period. I reverted only three times after a first compormise was made. And even if I voilated 3rr, why was I not never warned before? I also put my best effort in discussing this. The best way to avoide this is to make it like it is. It is disputed, even in Literature. Persia is old an has a long tradition, but a majotity of people in Iran are now not persians, but members of small minoritys. So to find out which minority or majority Geber was part will be a task without end. So try to comfort both groups and point out that it is DISPUTED. Personally, I don't think we should really care what ethnicity these people are. Arabic in Spanish[edit]

Hi Jiddan!

I have seen your recent edit in "List of Arabic words in Spanish". I would appreciate your help in a more thorough article to which the latter will have to be (eventually) merged. Arabic influence on the Spanish language. As an arabic speaker you could help me with the transliteration into latin. I dont know which system to use and all the words have to be checked! By the way its pretty hard finding all the words of arabic origin... I havent found any full list anywhere. Apparently there are over 4000 although i have still less than 1500 so far.

It will be good to have a native arabic speaker helping me out

Cool Jidan!

Well I am slowly going through the meanings of the words on the article Arabic influence on the Spanish language. I would appreciate it if you could put this article on your watch list and check the Arabic. I get most of the etymologies from www.rae.es. However my computer doesnt recognize some of the letters which appear as squares and funny symbols. Could you have a look and try to fix it? I am also using and Arab/English dictionary but its quite hard for me since I dont have much practice in using arabic dictionaries...

For example, I wrote:

aceche: copper, iron or zinc sulphate. From Arabic zāǧ.

Is it Zaj?? I dont know...

Anyways I had no idea that my language was so influenced by Arabic. I started becoming interested in the subject and now I have set out to make a proper article on the issue!

Yes there are 2 articles. I have said it loads of time on the talk page and have told you here twice!! I think the shorter article should be merged into the longer one which is more methodical and complete. Have a look at it. I like the newer image better. But the userbox should be smaller, and I think the background color of the info box should be something other than plain white. Perhaps you are new to Wikipedia, and are unfamilar with Wikipedia:Vandalism. Vandalism is willful destruction of a Wikipedia article, not good faith edits you disagree with. I added the stampede because I find it notable. The mention of the USS Cole bombing was already there. I did not violate WP:3RR because I reverted Inahet once. In the future, do not refer to other users' edits as vandalism when you simply disagree with them. False accusations of vandalism verge on personal attacks. Yemenis here in the U.S. are confused as to which day is Eid, some say Monday, some say Sunday, some even say Tuesday ~_~. And they want to follow Yemen, when it would have been easier (and more logical) to start Ramadan and celebrate eid on the days that other Muslims in American have and are going to, respectively.

Yes, but you are essentially putting words in Holmyard's mouth. He never said Yemen, he said "South Arabia". Since we've cited him as a source, we have to say what he says. WP:V says that "the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth". Furthermore, none of the links on the Geber article have any mention of Yemen. None of them.
