disruptive IP editors

you have taken the right actions in restoring the correct values from the sources and giving notice to the IPs on their talk page about their inappropriate actions. You may want to be more careful about using the generic vandalism warnings - a whole listing of warnings are found here Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace

the template below talks about inserting factual errors and would probably be most appropriate, increasing the number with each time they repeat the act.

  • {subst:uw-error1} / {subst:uw-error2} / {subst:uw-error3} / {subst:uw-error4}

When they have been given and ignored the "final warning", then they can be reported at the vandal notice board Wikipedia:AIV and an administrator will take action.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 07:49, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi,, Jayakrishnan.ks100! The things mentioned above by User:TheRedPenOfDoom are spot-on. First try warning if the User/Ip is Vandalising, if still continues u may report at :Administrator intervention against vandalism page (mostly after final warning unless it is a blatant Vandalism). Happy editing! reagrds, DRAGON BOOSTER 14:17, 21 February 2013 (UTC).

On Malayalam cinema edit war

There seems to be an edit war going on Malayalam cinema page. Which started with this edit made by 69.47.228.36. From what I understand, 69.47.228.36 edited an info existed in the Malayalam cinema page and South Indian film industry page for long time. It carried citations to newspapers links justifying it. 69.47.228.36 edited the information and citations too. He then proceeded to edit South Indian film industry also to suit his plans, all these without not a single independent report justifying claim. The edit war has to stop. Please restore the version existed before edit war started, until consensus is reached. ChroniclerSanjay (talk) 10:27, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Requesting you to put your thoughts here: Talk:Malayalam_cinema#Page_protected.
Btw, very surprised to see a new user getting alligned so quickly with the wiki policies. I guess you were here for fairly sometime before migrating to this user name; were'nt you? Cheers, -- Aarem (Talk) 08:31, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

It should be more or less cleaned up now. There are two outstanding films that need to be sourced (one has some information on the talk page that simple addition should be able to make if one is familiar with converting to US dollars) and then the list put into proper order.

I also left a question on the talk page about what income streams BOI uses to determine Gross that may be added into the lead if appropriate.

If there is information about various box office milestones, (first film to reach X, first film to break X in only overseas collection, etc.) those might be interesting to include as well. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:03, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Mr. Kunjacko Boban has acted in 50 films in malayalam cinema as lead and supporting actor and is cosidered as one of the leading actors of malayalam cinema. his latest realse romans has been widely acclaimed for his performance. thank u. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nightocean (talkcontribs) 15:26, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

You can't just vaguely say "considered". Considered by whom? You should provide the citation for that. Otherwise, it would fall under peacock terms. Same with term 'widely acclaimed'. Wikipedia follows the encyclopedic writing style. So you should rely of factual and provable statements about the subject. JK (talk) 15:54, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Mr. Mammootty has acted in more than 360 films,in malayalam cinema as lead actor and is cosidered as one of the leading method actors of malayalam cinema. this is long standing sourced material you can check it. thanks. I got that childhood info in an interview from Labour India. What reference link is there for it?

I know that you're a Malayalee (judging from your visit to Salim Kumar's Wikipedia page). If so, can you edit and add more info to the two pages I have made?

Those pages are Thatteem Mutteem and Bhima Jewels Comedy Festival. I have improved the article. Still, you can edit it. Please do so. I'll be happy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sureshkumarmalayil (talkcontribs) 13:23, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

adding names

It looks like there is a pretty big line of investigations underway Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, so it may take a while to get to Flowers of the world, particularly when many of them are already blocked.
The only thing I would suggest differently is that when you add new names, after evidence has started to be presented, to put a note (added on DATE) so that people can tell why certain evidence is only discussing certain accounts and if the investigators have already begun they can see that they have more things to look into. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

What's up at Kunchacko Boban?

I don't see clear vandalism, so it looks like you're involved in a content dispute at Kunchacko Boban. There is no exception to the bright-line three revert rule in the case of content disputes, so you'll need to present your case at Talk:Kunchacko Boban and work toward consensus for how the article should appear. —C.Fred (talk) 14:55, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

assertion of notability without any proof

Hello, with this edit you asserted "notabilty" for the film, however you have not yet produced any sourcing to support such a claim. Please do so or I intend to nominate it for deletion. Your actions now in actually supporting your claim of notability will save everyone trouble later. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:19, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. Kamal Hassan

Hai dude i am not sock we can only use reliably published sources, not any old thing we find on google. Claims about living people require the highest standard of sourcing.. And we should only be using secondary sources. Your recent editing history at No.20 Madras Mail shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Alexf(talk) 11:54, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. The thread is "The Hindu#Controversy". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 16:29, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

The Hindu Controversy

Dear JK There were references cited along with the changes made. So please refer to them before deleting the editing. FurtherThe editor of The Hindu, N.Ram was executive member of communist students union (SIFA). And if you read The Hindu, you will come to know about the leaning. Please do not remove editing as I am citing references to them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:4490:D660:0:0:0:0:B07 (talk) 11:38, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

"The Sunday Indian" is a promotional website and hence a questionable source. The article by Kuldip Nayyar doesn't mention anything about left-leaning. Even if he has mentioned it, it is just his personal opinion and not a fact. Wikipedia should only contain facts. The only fact that can be inferred from that article is that Kuldeep Nayyar has criticised the editor-in-chief of the newspaper for imposing his agenda and ideology on the organisation.JK (talk) 12:10, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

"Bloomberg" is an international financial news site. The Sunday Indian is magazine of politics, economics and current affairs and not a promotional website. More references are now cited from other sources. Ideology of a newspaper is of prime importance in order to publish neutral news. Its a well known fact and don't trivialise it by mentioning "some online portals", which are infact websites of established news magazines/agencies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:4490:D660:0:0:0:0:B07 (talk) 02:58, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

The Sunday Indian is a promotional website of IIPM. Doesn't count as reliable source. Apart from Bloomberg and the Sunday Indian, you haven't provided a single reliable source establishing The Hindu's left-wing bias. So the statement "by some online portals" is factually correct. JK (talk) 07:26, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mammootty. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Materialscientist (talk) 07:31, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Dear Mr.Jaykrishnan

I would like to extend my deep felt gratitude for the interest you are showing in editing the website of Manjari singer Page. Here are a few requests. Kindly visit www.manjari.co and subsequent pages and update the wiki page so that it appears more current. Manjari has sung for many more music directors and has more than 200 songs to her credit. you can find the links to all her songs in the website music section. Since you are the sole person undoing everything others put up in wikipedia citing reasons that are ridiculous (to me)....it will be best if you spent time 'doing' things rather than 'undoing'.
