I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Dab pages[edit]

Hi Jayacosta. I noticed you created Arthur Vickers (disambiguation). We only create DAB pages for situation where there are three or more existing articles on a topic that need to be distinguished from one another. DAB Pages should have no red links. When there are only two existing articles, each article gets a hatnote. Sometimes each will be at a disambiguated name, or sometimes, when there is a primary topic, one will be at the main name with no disambiguator and the second will be at one with a disambiguator, but in either case no DAB page is needed. Here, you created a DAB when only one article exists, and of the two red links, only one should ever have an article. We will never need an article for Arthur Vickers as an article about the name itself. For that reason I have deleted the page under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Please do not be discouraged by this. Wikipedia is vast and complex and knowing when to create a dab page is one of those areas that many new users find confusing. Please do create an article on the artist, though might I suggest that the proper name would be Arthur Vickers (artist) rather than using the disambiguator "(Canadian artist)" (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Precision and disambiguation). If you do create the article and you need help, please do not hesitate to drop me a message.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 05:17, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

February 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Arthur Vickers (artist) has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/user/arthurvickers. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 01:42, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
