Hi Jamesecombs,
Please read Wikipedia's Manual of Style page on job titles, at MOS:JOBTITLES. Your edits to the secretary of defense and Lloyd Austin pages are incorrect for the reasons listed there. Please do not revert my edits to these pages again.
Thanks, Wallnot (talk) 15:18, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Jamesecombs: Please stop making these edits to Lloyd Austin and other pages. The "proper nouns should be capitalized" edits you've made are explicitly incorrect under MOS:JOBTITLES and are extremely time consuming to correct. Wallnot (talk) 15:51, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Jamesecombs: Please read the policy at MOS:JOBTITLES. DoD's policy on what to capitalize is not binding on Wikipedia; the Manual of Style controls all style decisions on the site. Your edits will eventually be reverted, and by continuing to make them after it's been explained why they're wrong, you're creating more work for other editors. March 2021[edit]
Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Lieutenant general. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. —Eyer (he/him) If you reply, add
