Ornithopter

Hi Mr. Jackfork. My initial source are the actual documents are the correspondence between Mr. Kelly and his attorney Mr. O’Brien in my possession. The US patent can be found on the US Government website for US Patents and Trademarks.

The patent number is US 00 1177710. The patent search database only requires the 117710 for the patent search. I believe Mr Kelly also had patents for this in Germany and France.

Looking at his drawings I suspect the machine would be underpowered at the time of patent approval and would not fly. But the concepts patented might of been useful. But I am not an aeronautical engineer to speak expertly on that subject
