Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Christianity in Egypt. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.--Longsword9 (talk) 06:23, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do not declare edit war on other Wikipedians[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Christianity in Egypt shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--Longsword9 (talk) 06:28, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Number vandalism in article Christianity in Egypt[edit]

User:Jauerback, once again soliciting your intervention, on the same lines as in User talk:Longword10.2hands and User talk:Longword10. It seems like blocked User talk:Detyu15 has created more WP:SOCKs like User:Wrongresearch and User:Jack20101. Both usernames have been used to vandalize article Christianity in Egypt, with outright contempt for policies like WP:CIVILITY and WP:WAR. As you can see in Talk:Christianity in Egypt, other editors have also observed similar number vandalism. I have restored the article and the explanation for the figures is already there in Talk:Christianity in Egypt and Talk:Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. I've been asking these people to come with independent authoritative sources of the likes already incorporated into the article and discuss in the talk page, but they are inclined only towards messing with numbers. Please help.--Longsword9 (talk) 06:35, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Longsword9, I would suggest using WP:AIV next time as you will get the attention of any other admin and not need to wait for a specific one. You should also consider filing a report at WP:SPI. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 11:51, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure Jauerback, I shall utilize WP:AIV or open a WP:SPI, if the problem persists. Thanks a lot for your help.--Longsword9 (talk) 14:38, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
